Reopened (I visited 19 May 12) following a complete refurbishment inside and out which went on for about a month, which indicates how much has been done. Had been a complete dive and when it closed I did not think it would reopen. All beautifully clean and lovely (what a change from before) and serving food. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere and children are welcome. I had Tring Brewery's Side Pocket to a Toad. There are three handpumps (London Pride, Greene King IPA). A great addition to Chesham, especiaaly this side of town. ErnieSkillen - 20 May 2012 12:57
Shabby and uninviting on the outside and likewise on the inside. Badly kept beer and unwelcoming staff. anonymous - 6 Oct 2008 17:19
Fantastic friendly pub ... Clientele are an extremely welcoming mixed bunch, from 18 to 87. Great garden, smokers very well catered for too. yes the back bar needs decorating, but it is on the cards. Best pub in Chesham, a real LOCAL pub. anonymous - 15 Nov 2007 11:58
In desperate need of redecoration and sanitisation!! It is not a pleasant place to be in, and I pity anyone who has the misfortune to stubble upon it. This place is in certain need of a visit from Kim and Aggie!!! anonymous - 3 Dec 2005 14:05
planning on moving to the area so checked out what would be one of my locals.Didnt check my change and was given the two mankiest pound coins imaginable and an old style non legal tender 50 pence piece.Wont be back! It was dead as a dodo as well, 9pm on a Saturday night. thefourbees - 14 Oct 2005 21:53
