The selection of beers for a CAMRA pub was mildly disappointing (just Deuchars IPA and Caledonian XPA) but the XPA was fine and we were made to feel welcome, even if the locked door was rather disconcerting at first, leading us to think it was closed.

Bass straight from the jug - the only reason you need to go here, but a friendly welcome, good atmosphere and a tidy looking bar area all add to the experience. Old fashioned opening hours may frustrate slightly, but make sure you know the times asnd you'll be in heaven.

An interesting old school boozer with an interesting old school guv’nor. I just had to try the Bass poured from a jug bought from the cellar, haven’t seen that in years, damn good it was too. Front bar has a pool table plus fruit and quiz machines for the office crowd and I think there is a rear lounge.

Great locals boozer, if the doors shut its to keep the riff raff out, thats how much Dave thinks of his regulars, knock the door and your in to some fine ales, great friendly atmosphere and a spotlessly clean pub. Best pub in the area a ust for real ale buffs.
