I agree with the food review from Feb 08. I ate there recently and it was dire. There's a few interesting locals/drunks that frequent the place though.

Very unfriendly staff, assistant manager threatened one of our group - won't be going there again....shame really because the beer was very good.

More expensive drinks than your average pub, they managed to screw up two of our food orders (out of three - bad odds huh?), giving meat dishes when vegetarian ones had been ordered. Additionally the quality of their food is terrible, the small amount of meat within their house pie is well surrounded by fat and gristle. Also the tables were dirty.

I think the lack of depth and detail in any of the previous reports sums the Blackbird up quite nicely. It’s a fairly attractive but unremarkable Fullers pub serving Fullers beers and standard pub grub. Probably one of the better pubs in the immediate area.

Remains a good fullers pub, with good range of Fullers drinks + snacks
