Ye Olde Watling, Mansion House

A good looking pub near Cheapside that I ran across while on an Original London Walk. Looked too good to miss so I doubled back at walk''s conclusion for lunch. Front bar was nicely done up for Christmas. Strong beer selection, well poured. Food was fairly typical chain grub - not great, not awful. Pretty substantial crowd for a weekend. Good stop for a pint but I''ll probably look for lunch somewhere else in the future.

The Snaffle Bit, Glasgow

The last few times I''ve been in Glasgow, I''ve stayed nearby the Snaffle Bit but hadn''t gone in. I remedied this finally during my last visit as I was staying right across the street. Well, you can''t stare at a pub all day and not go in! A real homey boozer with a friendly staff. Serves a nice pint of Belhaven. An excellent stop when you need a pop or two!

The Museum Tavern, Bloomsbury

I have to admit that I love this place despite the fact that it's square in the middle of the busy London tourist trail. Beautiful interior, pleasant enough staff, decent food, solid real ale selection. Most recent visit included a well-poured Truman's Swift Golden.
