Friday night, the music is loud all over the pub, not just by the pool table as it used to be and no it cant be turned down in one part of the pub, good pub Indian food, only one real beer Courage Best. dandj - 8 Mar 2008 14:28
This is NOT a review, this is an advertisement. Pink Angel.. Hmmm Red Devil morelike. If ever I saw a review that was so obviously placed by the owners, then this is it . Friendly staff? Bollocks. This place is a dump, make no bones. You get served if you are lucky. And there ARE fights! And the real ale is as changeable as the weather. You want my advice... go somewhere else. von.schlieffen - 20 Sep 2007 20:15
This pub is the only friendly pub in hendon!! All the staff are lovley people!! There is never a fight or argument in this pub!! The pub is ideal for older people but it is becoming and trying to intruduce younger people (OVER 18S ONLY OFF COURSE) to the pub with fantastic entertainment every saturday night! PLEASE IF YOUR READING THIS POP IN AND SEE FOR YOURSELF, THAT IT IS A GREAT HENDON PUB!!!!!!!!!! Pink_Angel1986 - 4 May 2007 20:59
Like St Pauls in the Blitz, this pub still stands proudly. The surrounding area hasn't been bombed, thankfully, but redeveloped out of all recognition over the past 30 years or so. Ghosts from Old Hendon (including me!) often float past, trying to remember how it all used to be. Inside the Chequers...well, hmmm. It's been massively refurbished and I can only give it 6/10 for just about everything. The beers are OK but nothing special, the barstaff do serve you but with no enthusiasm, and the customers all seem to be just "passing through", so there's no real pub spirit or congenial atmosphere. Never mind. As an infrequent visitor, maybe I just haven't caught the pub at its best. Whatever, I'm very pleased that the Chequers is still here. timkholman - 6 Feb 2006 13:13
I go to play pool with my mates there at least once a week during free periods. Darren - 26 May 2004 18:45
