The only proper pub selling decent drinkable ale within the boundary of the historic Borough of Hendon. The Young's Special was on form on this visit.

Better than ever. Quite a few ladies happy to go in on their own. Same high standard of food and Beer. Could do with an extra member of staff when busy. Locals friendly. Most local pubs have shut down and one just down the road gets all the Chavs as mentioned.

Always wander in when in the area. Last time as a refugee from the pub up the road which, to be fair, probably acts the same way as a pond filter allowing more intelligent creatures to drift along to this place. Lot of (well behaved) students around in and out. Ale to its usual high standard. Ale drinkers delight!

bar staff are very chatty and welcoming and pull a decent pint! I definatly agree with the last comment about the pizza's, had a small guardinera (vegetable pizza) and was easily enough to share for a very reasonable price. Probably my favourite pub in the area, well worth seeking out.

Would recommend this pub to anyone.Bar staff are extremely friendly. Came here and had a pizza one night which was lovely-i think the foods all home cooked. Locals seem pretty eccentric but nice enough. Will be coming back soon.
