This place has changed a few times over the years but never for the better, really. It's too shiny and mirrored now, it wants desperately to be a Hoxton wine bar but it just doesn't fit in on Church St. It's expensive and so rarely busy, it's only saving grace is its 2am licence, but at weekends there's better places to be in Stoke Newington.

Went in here on a first date recently on a Tuesday night ... not your usual venue I admit but it was the date's choice. Had a couple of pints and although it wasn't busy seemed okay. Though reading the comment from the previous visitor maybe the usual clientele wouldn't appreciate gay first dates happening on a regular basis!

ermm.. Pints of wife beater are served to a gang of button down collar shirted geezers who watch as the bemused residents of Stoke Newington hurry by on their way to the Defoe. It's so out of place it's hilarious

Did the owners visit Stoke Newington before they plonked this souless Croydon poke hole on Church Street. Obviously not

Lifeless place that would do better in Islington. Food used to be good but the whole place has gone downhill so fast I haven't been back for a long time.

Does what it says on the tin. Pulling joint with expensive drinks. One good point - it's so small that you might get to rub up against some totty even if you don't get to pull any.....
