| Overall pub had nice decor and atmosphere, pint was ok, but staff were a bit rude! nicnocs1 - 28 Dec 2011 19:06 |
| Good beer selection ande well looked after, good service but I can only agree with Mayfairdandy. Seating is uncomfortable and skysports dominates from every wall asprilla69 - 7 Aug 2011 13:21 |
| Popped in on what I thought was going to be a quiet lunchtime. Far from it! Busy little pub with an upstairs bar (for eating and drinking). Decent selection of ales and the food looked good and judging by the sales must have been! Understand MayfairDandy about the high tables and chairs (I hate them) but I didn't get the "Chain Feel". Friendly barstaff, well managed. Not my neck of the woods and Mayfair prices but will use when in town. Stonecoat - 30 Dec 2010 15:59 |
| This place has recently had a facelift and the " we know what's best for the customers " interiors team has installed the high tabled perches for our benefit and wired every wall with plazma screens as they obviously "know best" ! Oh dear . . . . . .oh dear indeed. No real atmosphere anymore, 100% pub chain feel ( which it is ) and it`s now lost what little personality the place used to have. Shame. | John - Good news about the Kings. I see your responses, and I trust your judgement. I was back here again in 2001 after a 14 yr UK hiatus and then last in 2004. This was one of my locals back in the mid to late 80s. A few pints and then off somewhere else, but always made it. The decor never changed, and when I was there, they always seemed to have a good manager. I remember Hurlimans being served in 84/85 that was toxic ! Cheers for the update.
