| An avid darts player, I have decided to comment of all the Pubs I have played in recently. It is, as others have said, a scruffy little boozer. The Board is in reasonable nick, but the throw itself if awful, who on earth put it there. Seems to me like they just wanted a board up and never considered people may want to use it. The beer is well priced for the area, and of an reasonable standard. The staff are English, but seem far to focussed on their regulars to care about visitors. Aa poor darts venue with nothing that inspires return. ArryArrows - 8 Jun 2010 13:49 |
| An Ok pub. Pride. Youngs Ordinary and Bombadier - the latter was reasonable but not worth a repeat order. cheshirecat - 2 Jun 2010 22:24 |
| "WOW" what a transformation. Was in the pub about a year ago and found it dirty and dingy and the ladies toilets were disgusting. Went in last night and could not believe the difference in the Pub. It was spotless clean, the ladies toilets have been completely altered with a vanity unit and fresh flowers displayed with hand dryers and mirrors. The whole pub has had a fresh coat of paint and new curtains which makes it looks very homely. The outside area has plenty of seating with new umbrellas and the flower boxes and hanging baskets really look attractive and inviting. It is now a pleasure to go into this pub and the staff are really pleasant. Well done to the new owner who has really made an effort to bring the pub up to a great standard. Keep up the good work. | I was in the pub last night and was very pleasently surprised! I have not been in the pub since the new owners took over last october. I was especially impressed with the new outside seating area, ideal for the summer to come, hopefully! As for the toilets, my girlfriend went in to the ladies and commented on how clean and spacious it was now, and thought that the flowers were a very nice touch. The pub and outside seating areas were very clean and I thought that the staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable about the cask ales. I will certainly be visitig it a lot more over the summer months, maybe to watch England win the world cup on the new large screen TV, (ok, we can all dream). coxey12 - 19 May 2010 11:49 |
| Well i have drank in this pub for years was suprised when it closed down, but glad it reopened with same staff but different owner now. Unfortunatly the standards have dropped the toilets are so disgusting i won't even venture in them anymore i have to wait til i get back to work the general look on the place it needs a clean very suprised as it never was like this before and a few people i know have stopped going in there. The sandwiches are still the best though stepney6 - 16 Apr 2010 12:36 |
