The Betjeman Arms, St Pancras International Station

Had an absolutely disgusting pint of overly hopped ale (forgot the name) and at £4.90 I felt like I had been abused. Lacks atmosphere. Only saving grace is that St Pancras is full of poncy French places so at least you get some semblance that you are in Britain. Best go so one of the other pubs nearby outside the station if you can.

The Wheelwright Arms, Luton

Had to send the Doom Bar back as it was off. Was pulled a new pint which was better but I don't think I'll bother with the ale here again. On the plus side I enjoyed all the football memorabilia and they have a great darts set-up. Seems to have a good community feel.

The Bricklayers Arms, Luton

Uncompromisingly Victorian style pub decorated with barrels, leather-bound books, and old photos. The space is spread through several rooms. Can get a bit busy on match-days although I wouldn't let that put you off coming even then. A fine selection of well kept ales. The yard area is a bit bleak but all in all a top boozer and being close to the station there is really no excuse not to stop by.
