I was really taken with this place, having become disillusioned with my Hotel bar. That was until I found the Peacock just down the road.

I must say, whilst it’s a nice enough place and very Victoria, which I do like, it’s pricey and the ale isn’t at it’s best. The staff, seem to serve those they know over anyone visiting and it’s a little to slam down your pint with their hand out for the cash, even by London standards.

Having been in here on previous visits, I was disappointed with how it is nowadays

Decent Youngs pub between Aldgate tube and Tower Hill. Nicely presented both inside and out and popular with local office workers. One of the areas unsung heroes as far as pubs go.

What a find! I was mightily impressed on my visit to Ye Three Lords last Thursday evening (16th Aug). It’s a stripped-down, basic, and no nonsense Young’s pub, which is well, unpretentious, down to earth and most definitely, rocking! There can’t be too many pubs in the area where you’ll here Smoke On The Water blaring from the jukebox. The Young’s Special was in champion condition and as I type, I’m really struggling to pick out any real faults. Err; I guess it would benefit from a bit of smoke. No seriously, this is an excellent little boozer (and it is rather small) and if, like me, you crave havens such, as this, then you’ll be most definitely feel at home here. Pay a visit.

Decent old-skool boozer with reasonably good Youngs beer.

Jukebox is too loud, especially when the eejits at the end of the bar are entertaining themselves by repeatedly selecting cheesy-listening hits from Tom Jones etc.

Fairly typical Youngs pub down the road from Tower Gateway Station ( DLR ) . My pint of Youngs was pretty poor, even by Bedford standards, but this is a friendly welcoming pub that seems to have a better atmosphere ( banter between staff and customers etc ) than most City pubs.
