I was really taken with this place, having become disillusioned with my Hotel bar. That was until I found the Peacock just down the road.
I must say, whilst it’s a nice enough place and very Victoria, which I do like, it’s pricey and the ale isn’t at it’s best. The staff, seem to serve those they know over anyone visiting and it’s a little to slam down your pint with their hand out for the cash, even by London standards.
Having been in here on previous visits, I was disappointed with how it is nowadays

Decent Youngs pub between Aldgate tube and Tower Hill. Nicely presented both inside and out and popular with local office workers. One of the areas unsung heroes as far as pubs go.

What a find! I was mightily impressed on my visit to Ye Three Lords last Thursday evening (16th Aug). It’s a stripped-down, basic, and no nonsense Young’s pub, which is well, unpretentious, down to earth and most definitely, rocking! There can’t be too many pubs in the area where you’ll here Smoke On The Water blaring from the jukebox. The Young’s Special was in champion condition and as I type, I’m really struggling to pick out any real faults. Err; I guess it would benefit from a bit of smoke. No seriously, this is an excellent little boozer (and it is rather small) and if, like me, you crave havens such, as this, then you’ll be most definitely feel at home here. Pay a visit.

Decent old-skool boozer with reasonably good Youngs beer.
Jukebox is too loud, especially when the eejits at the end of the bar are entertaining themselves by repeatedly selecting cheesy-listening hits from Tom Jones etc.

Fairly typical Youngs pub down the road from Tower Gateway Station ( DLR ) . My pint of Youngs was pretty poor, even by Bedford standards, but this is a friendly welcoming pub that seems to have a better atmosphere ( banter between staff and customers etc ) than most City pubs.

Hello,
I have to say that I have had many a good afternoon and night in this pub.
The beers are great fosters nice and chilled and they serve a great range of bitters.
The food is top notch for pub grub and reasonably priced.
The service is both quick an friendly and the landlord is game for a laugh.
I cant understand some of the previous reviews....are we talking about the same pub...........????????

Very well kept ale – for Young’s – when I’ve been in there. It has been both chilled, fresh and crisp. The food is also decent and reasonably priced, so you should get lunch and a pint for under a tenner. It does get quite busy in there, so the earlier you arrive the better.
Overall, one of the better Young's pubs I've been to.
|
Not a bad pub, basically a typical Youngs pub. Service was good despite being very busy and the pint I got was good. Used to prices in area so not shocked. There are better pubs in the area but there are a lot more that are far worse.
|
Underwhelming pub. My pint of Youngs Special wasn't at it's best and the decor is your usual stained dark wood pub finish. Tried it on a Monday night and it was mostly empty. Not a pub I will be going back to.

This palace was OK. Whilst not certain of the meaning of ‘a suits pub’, I think I can take this as the bench mark. The staff seemed to stem from eastern Europe and given the noise some point and hand signals were required to get a pint. A bit brash and noisy with a ropey pint, I can’t see the attraction - unless of course it’s to letch at the girls behind the bar. Expensive Larger, but I was on Youngs and Bombadier neither it must be said were at their best, but they weren’t quite £3. That said, given the area, I suppose it is one of the better places around.

Good pint of guinness with friendly staff if you can stand being jostled on a Friday evening with very pissed up suits who obviously owned the place ... or thought they did anyway. Not bad but not the place for a quiet drink on a Friday night.

Typical city boozer, full of suits who don't mind paying 3 quid for a pint. The beer wasn't in particularly good form when I was in there either. A good place for the homeless to go at about 5.30 in the afternoon to see how much many of the free bar snacks they can eat before getting kicked out.

A great city pub 10 out of 10 on the quality of the beer, we liked the pub so much we held our wedding reception at the three lords, the atmosphere in this pub is great, the staff are very pleasant and friendly, for great beer, great food and a great atmosphere take a trip to the three lords pub,the city as many many pubs but none like this one give it a try,you will return

been in here only during the day and it seemed ok , bit full of suits and we stood out like sore thumbs in jeans n shirts , but hey the beer wasnt too bad had a pint of lager which tasted ok didnt really encounter the staff so i cant comment on them , but is definatly a suits pub
|
Youngs Bitter on excellent form yesterday evening. Very full of "suits", but a pleasant friendly atmosphere nevertheless. Music got a bit loud later on though. The fact that this pub - a typical City stand up to drink pub - was much busier than The Chamberlain over the road, where you could have had a choice of seats - speaks volumes for how popular this pub obviously is. I shall endeavour to return - hopefully sooner rather than later

very male orientated and didn't like the staff required sign ATTRACTIVE STAFF NEEDED surely thats against the law but i suppose thats the only way of getting customers cause i certainly didn't go in for the bitter it was awful

I don't really get the appeal of this place. I asuume it's the quality of the beer, which I can't really comment on. Otherwise it's a bit dingy and old and seems to be full of older men leering at any women who walk in. If you want a pub the The Peacock down the street is better.
|
A decent city pub but the food is a bit limited. It is busy at lunchtimes and between 5pm and 7pm. The trouble is when the pub gets quiet the manager will have an early night and ring the bell. Very annoying if you are just getting the taste!!
|
Great pub serving excellent Youngs bitters.
|
Well, what a great pub!! the atmosphere is outstanding, the bar staff are outstanding and the food is outstanding!! what more can you ask for of a pub?

Wanted a new pub close to the office. Went on a Friday night with a bunch of workmates and had a great time. Cold, fresh beer; good juke box (too loud somethimes though); reasonably priced; but mostly blokes, although, when you see the bar staff, you'll understand why!!

Fantastic boozer under relatively new management. Best kept beer in the City - Nice one Micky, Carol, Marianne and the scary kitchen staff........

I held my 40th birthday party here in the main bar. Owners and staff were great, couldn't have done more for us. Good beer too being a Young's pub. Highly recommended.

friendly staff, just been refurbed! The staff will even pull you sneaky shandies if taking clients out and you wish to get the upper hand in proceedings! Great pub grub downstairs.
