It is impossible to say anything nice about this pub.The Manager and staff are extremly rude and do not want to serve, how Wetherspoons have let this pub descend to this level I do not know.possibly they put all their worst staff in one pub and forget about it.The Fawlty Towers of the pub trade but without the laughs.Who the **** voted to give this 4.7 ? MINUS 4.7 would be about right ! slerpy - 4 Apr 2008 10:12
Probably the worst Wetherspoons I have set foot in. Have been a few times to form this opinion. The manager closed the pub at 8.30pm following the england / portugal match AFTER his staff served a customer & family food and drink who where wearing england football shirts. Manager was rude and arrogant towards the customer who whacked him ! manager proceeded to stomp around the pub hollering and shouting then closed it! If you're planning to go there beware there is no where else within walking distance !! markcr2 - 8 Jul 2006 10:09
Good range of ales, beers and ciders. Great value food especially the curry night for a fiver including a drink. Smoking restricted to the lower level. Bit lacking in atmosphere but well decorated and furnished. The bar staff are excellent but the waiting staff could do with some customer service training and personality. Toilets are downstairs which is hardwork when you've had a few pints.. Ciderbabecindy - 24 May 2006 14:20
Not too bad for a weatherspoons. Staff are really good at noticing who has been waiting the longest at the bar when the pub is busy as well. stevokinevo - 4 Jan 2006 15:34
I frequent this pub quite often, and i have to say, although i know there have been problems in the past with management, since the arrival of the current pub manager, Steve, the pub seems to have gone from strength to strength. The food has improved immensley, as has the cleanliness. Everyone there is very welcoming and friendly, and they have always been happy to help. I highly recommend that anyone who went there pre-Steve to go back. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!!! The function room at the back is ideal, and now they have extended the non-smoking area. Keep it up Huxley! anonymous - 3 Jan 2006 20:26
