Straight out of the box, self-assembly Fullers 'Ale & Pie House'. Nothing really wrong with it (if absence of character doesn't feature too highly on your list of desirable pub characteristics), but not much right either (except the beer which is always well kept if Fullers is your thing). rpadam - 3 Jun 2008 23:38
Below-average Fullers' pub. Rather dark and oppressive inside. grecian - 12 Feb 2008 15:05
Serves a decent pint, although if you want food, I suggest you go elsewhere. I was in there 2 weeks ago, when a rat (or mouse?) came out of the kitchen into the pub. They said it was from the building site out the back, and they get quite a few of them now. They didn't seem too concerned. Then last week I had a 'Jack Horner Pie' for £10, which was supposed to be filled with sausage and bacon. When it arrived it only had 1 small slice of a sausage (and no bacon) - just filled with a load of vegetables. Did the mice eat all of their meat? plymouth1 - 26 Nov 2007 14:33
Pleasant and comfortable pub - I'd agree with GuideDog Saint, this is a good meeting point for gigs at the Astoria or indeed anywhere in the West End. Can't comment on the food, although looked ok on the menu! copnorsteve - 11 Nov 2007 12:52
Would have been a great place if the kitchen hadn't closed between placing orders for our party. It was 6pm on a Saturday. Who closes that early. Only one of us got to eat. scotchgrrl - 7 Nov 2007 20:59
