High prices, quiz machine on the blink, barman with issues in the sense of humour department. Think I'll give it a miss in future nk74 - 1 Jul 2009 11:02
Deceptively large pub because of the back area it was crowded when I was in and the competition for seats was fierce. The only reason I could think of for the numbers was the proximity to the Uni but the prices belied any serious attempt to attract students. Let's face it Tottenham Court Rd is not anyone's destination of choice but the Rising Sun was slightly above the average for this area and so it is possible I might one day end up in here again. murgatroyd - 28 Jun 2009 20:25
Real ale and good food - though the portion of chips was meagre! dpaajones - 27 Mar 2009 17:44
Went to this pub for the first time in years on Saturday afternoon after taking advantage of the Zavi sale. The 2 barmaids were the sort that continued their conversation whilst serving, though when i got my Kronenburg it was lovely. However, my girlfriend and i decided to order a 'plate' of chips. When they arrived i thought it was a joke. I have never seen such a small amount of chips, served on a saucer, no more than about 20 chips! You would expect a toddler to still feel hungry after eating them, all for £1.80. And they were soggy. conflictuk - 13 Jan 2009 13:49
Passable pub, probably better at lunchtime when it's not too busy, serves quite good food, but it basically lacks character or anything to really recommend it above anywhere else. pintofstrongbow - 1 Jan 2009 14:09
