We went this weekend (Sept 08) and were really shocked by the quality of food in the Battle Axes. I'd been before with my dad and we trend to go for the garden & the fact that it's easy for people with mobility issues to get around. That said - I had a snack burger, which I was assured came with chips. It didn't come with chips, was cooked (not enough) from frozen and was definitely not 35 day aged sirloin or some such gubbins as indicated on the menu. This cost £9.75. It's a disgrace - and the drinks were ludicrously overpriced too. It was £1.75 for a coke and £3.75 for a small glass of wine.
Avoid if you want to protect both your gastric and financial credibility.
