Agree with comments regarding decor. We did manage to find Old Speckled Hen hiding amongst the chrome lager and Tetley pumps, which was the saving grace.

Disappointed with this place, no decent ale at all and lacked character. Staff friendly enough, but the place just seems to try and be trendy, but too shabby to pull it off.

Converted from a Georgian manor house, to a hotel, then to a Working Men's club, now back to a hotel and bar. Nice people running the place, not a lot of money spent on the interior fit-out (and it shows). generally good beer and the food is good value (they seem to have gone through quite a few staff / chef's)
