Bit strange in my opinion this place and an odd landlord. The beer selection is very safe with Camerons being the main choice. People seem absorbed by the fruit machine as if talking is not allowed. Anyone not for me.

Loved the welcome, the beer and the marine memorabilia on the walls! Would have loved to have lingered but curry was calling.

Very quiet again for my return, possible with football on elsewhere. Smashing ales once again. My pal enjoyed his Strongarm especially.

Brilliant little warm and friendly pub with plenty of marine memoribilia on the walls.

Three ales on handpump: Tetleys, Strongarm and John Smith's.

Just about a perfect town pub. I will definitely be back!

Well, a brilliant little pub. Maria and myself were in Whitby for 3 days, left early due to M`s dad being ill in hospital, we found the Elsinore within the first hour of our arival, a little gem of a place and the bonus was, Sunday night, 3 piece band, the TriTones, just ace, let me hold the Ian`s, Gibson Les Paul, i took photos, no trouble, great sound, lovely beer and atmoshere. We , in one day, had 3 visits to the pub. Travelled a thousand mile round trip from Cornwall and if there was only one pub, the Elsinore, we wouldnt have been dissapointed.
Grat place, lovely people. Den & Maria. June 2010.
