| Was closed Sunday 20/07 so no review. Is it normal to be closed on a Sunday? Lights inside where litten... Went for a pint across the road: The City Pride... markos - 25 Jul 2008 13:53 |
| The whole place smelt like a Parisian street (i.e. more than a hint of open sewer). Limited choice of real ale, despite the large display about the ongoing beer festival near the bottom of the stairs. Few people in despite it being office chucking-out time. Overall, very disappointing (I suggest going to the Sir John Oldcastle a short distance down Farringdon Road instead). rpadam - 9 Apr 2008 00:39 |
| Great place, heaps of room, reliable Wetherspoons service, cheap drinks and value-for-money food. The downstairs location is excellent, with great views of the sidewalk above. Staff were amazingly friendly, place was very clean, efficient service. Was lacking a bit of atmosphere on the night I went as it was fairly empty, but I can imagine it is great on busier nights. Traditional location with a long history in the area. stuartw - 24 Mar 2008 16:54 |
| Despite being in a basement, this pub is fully accessible for wheelchair users via a lift just inside the doorway. There is a disabled toilet. Better than average Wetherspoons, plenty of room on my mid-afternoon visit and a relaxed atmosphere in which to watch a Test Match: a minor point here, but why do Spoons' pubs insist on showing those subtitles which are always comically inaccurate?
