Just been sold at auction. New owners' intentions not yet known. Enjoy it while you can - how many W/stow pubs boast a thriving folk club, open mic, blues, rock and quiz nights AND several real ales? We don't want to lose it - and we don't want another overnight conversion into a betting shop. E17Bee - 25 Oct 2010 21:11
Hey Folkie66, how can you say the pub is getting worse 'day by day' when you then say you do not go in there? Be fair at least! Every time I have been in there the beer is superb, maybe the atmosphere will pick up now that you have gone to the village. They have only just done that place up and it was a dire place to drink in before. You should have seen the Plough before it was refurbished a few years ago. As for the garden, it is winter! rogerthedodger - 29 Dec 2009 18:24
Used to have a good atmosphere. I personally think it's getting worse day by day, so much that I stopped going there and started frequenting the Village Pub, which is a much friendlier and nicely decorated pub with a very nice beer garden. And I'm not surprised to see many of the Plough's customers in there. folkie66 - 12 Dec 2009 23:55
I was in the Plough last week, is good to see that the music room as a new decoration, is alot warmer and welcome, the beer is still very good (try the Winter Brew). good things are happening in this pub. Nice to see that tradiction is still alive in Walthamstow. tita - 10 Nov 2009 18:24
Went in last week and had some lovely Fullers Ale. Now seems to be Cask Marque as well which is good. Even better is the news that the Old Witch who I believe was married to one of the owners has been sent packing. Horrible woman was she, used to stand by the bar snarling at customers and was as miserable as sin. Still a great old place and even better with her gone! offthewagon07 - 3 Aug 2009 15:04
