Nice pub, good atmosphere. All the real ales are well kept especially the London Pride. Varied entertainment in the back room most weekends. Decent quiz on Sunday evenings but a shame "the Sweet fan" has been stopped from doing them as he was good. Probably works in a different pub now. Overall a decent boozer. One of the best in the area. RickyBoy - 29 Apr 2008 18:57
Thank you for the positive comments Miu. We wanted to contact you direct, but were unable to, as your details are not shown. The main bar is due for a major refurbishment this year. With the introduction of the smoking ban, we were under pressure to do what we could (weather permitting) whilst at the same time keeping the pub open to fulfil our obligations to the Acts that had been booked in advance. We hit some unexpected snags as well. We had to take out an old chimney stack that was in the way of the enlarged doorway and then had to move a metal staircase outside. It was not a simple task and we had to hire heavy lifting gear. It is for these reasons that the decorations to the front bar have been delayed. We welcome your comments and can only assure you that we have our customers best interests at heart. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their continued support over the years. We do hope that you have had a wonderful Christmas and we wish you all a temendous New Year! theploughinn - 2 Jan 2008 19:02
Nice friendly pub. Was there new year's eve and it was very good. the atmosphere was nice and the staff hard working and pleasant.Nice mixture of people of varied ages. the only negative is the fact that the owner, Mr Ruffy has not finished the works on the beer garden and inside the pub. It could do with a lick of painting and the floors varnished. But due to the friendliness of the staff and the good atmosphere i will definitely keep going there. And george the cat is a character, just beware' cos he tends to scratch when annoyed. miu - 2 Jan 2008 15:25
Excellent pub, one of the best in the area, very good quality real ales, the staff are very friendly and professional, hopefully the works will finish soon. anonymous - 25 Nov 2007 22:46
Had a lovely selection of real ales. I had 4 pints of lovely ESB. It was a Sunday and I popped into the back Bar for £6 and was entertained by the Folk Club. Had a lovely time, but the after for pints of ESB anybody would! The Staff were reasonably good with quick service or at least an acknowledgement that you was not holding out money for the fun of it! Nice place and nice beer! offthewagon07 - 15 Nov 2007 16:11
