I have just returned to the office after lunch with colleagues at the Panton Arms, which we chose as a change to our regular venue, the Salisbury Arms. Suffice to say we will not return any time soon. The first of our food orders (made before 12:45) did not arrive until after 1:30 and the others had to wait over an hour for their food. During this time other tables were given odd plates of food, but no one table received all their food in one go. A hurried "Sorry, but 40 people came in at once" doesn't really wash when it's Friday lunchtime and the pub is only about 75% full. njb - 24 Sep 2010 14:40

Visited this pub at lunchtime at 1p.m. today. It is very local to me and seemed the ideal place to take some visitors from Nottingham for lunch. The place was deserted and I am not surprised. Typical pub grub which is not a problem. Te wo of us had fish and chipos and the other ham egg and chips. The chips were cold, and the fish was very dry, and all was served with salad. The only redeeming feature was that the beer was in very good condition Greene King IPA. Rhode_Runner - 18 Nov 2008 22:32
Great little locals pub hidden just away from the main area of Cambridge a minutes walk from the Botanical gardens and worth heading to. Large outside seating area and well kept ales. Had a very nice pint of Reverand James and sat in the afternoon sun. Not so sure about the pale Green paint but it does not affect the ale. CambridgeBlue - 12 May 2008 11:33
This pub is a little off the beaten track for tourists but is a favourite watering hole for post graduates. There is an outside courtyard area that is partially covered. Good, reasonably priced, food and excellent beer. Greene King IPA, Abbot and Reverend James. Well worth a visit. Rhode_Runner - 15 Oct 2007 21:09
