Visited the pub with a walking group, intended to stay for a pint and a meal but both food and drink were expensive. Certainly not a friendly pub, in fact I don't think the girl spoke English, so although our group were the only visitors we did not stay. Very disappointed, will not go back, and reading comments on this and the other two pubs in Pirbright glad we are not locals.

Quite a nice pub, Berr is well kept although expensive, a warm welcome when you arrive as long as it isnt the landlord. Decor looks a bit like a cheap bistro but an improvement. Won't be going back in a hurry. Rate it with a 4

Visited on a warm May evening and they had Tribute on as the special (third) ale which was exceptional. The Shere Drop was also drinking beautifully and I have to say I've never had a bad pint here, although recent price hikes means that I don't visit as often as I'd like. The recent decor change is not to everyone's taste, but the pub is well worth a visit for the ale quality alone.

Our walking group have been looking for a really good pub in Surrey, this is not it but as Surrey pubs go it is better than most. From the outside it looks the part, enter and the guts have been ripped out. Modern open plan, food not exciting but passable fare and the beer is ok. As mentioned before Fullers and a guest ale. But where is the soul of the pub. Maybe I am getting a little too old. At least it is free of a wide screen plasma TV. I don,t want to be too hard but if this was my local I would probably end up drinking at home. I am going to give it a generous 7, but I would not go back.

Friendly pub. Ideal start and end point for country walks, opposite the car park and duck pond. London Pride plus two guest cask ales. Lunches available, not exciting but acceptable, but note they end at 2 p.m. weekdays, 2:15 pm weekends. Smoking and non-smoking sections.
