has the potential to be a great pub. at least all of the teenagers have buggered off since the new management came in. needs to improve the quality of beer and get a few more decent real ales in to hit the mark. ianowlsac - 16 Oct 2011 17:22
Mmmmm. Almost as if written by the new owners.... Popped in out of morbid fascination to see what's happening now. No ales (although there are twee signs saying "just resting" on the pumps), one lager was off as was the Guiness. I wonder if the new refurb will include some beer? I suspect it'll be a reimagination of an Olde Worlde pub in a modern setting. It'll limp on for 18 months until some other investor comes in. When will people realise that what people in Epsom are missin is a real pub with good drink and food without gimmicks? I see quotes have been added on the wall by Bill Shankly and Jefferey Bernard. They would hate this pub warreng - 16 Oct 2011 16:18
I have only just recently moved to the area and have found this to be one of the best pubs in Epsom, Good Beer, very friendly staff, and a good pub menu! After speaking to a couple of the staff I have discovered that there will be a refurbishment happening in January 2012, (which the staff seem very excited about) I think this is a brilliant idea and just what Epsom needs! Plus it has Sky Sports! What more could you want! The staff seem to work to a very high standard and making a customer feel welcome is top priority. I did see a poster in the pub for the Singles night, even though im not single I admire how the pub is trying different ways to attract people to the venue for more than just football. Great all round pub worth checking out! tommy_boy - 5 Oct 2011 22:14
Used to be a good boozer - decent beer with decent prices. Now on a slippery slope. If you like decent old fashion pubs go elsewhere. They're even planning a singles night....... Jesus..... warreng - 18 Sep 2011 16:02
Is understanding there are some revolutionary new managers to come in and invest in the pub, bringing it in line with it's counterparts in the area! Some of the idea's that have been mentioned around the pub, makes the place look a very exciting prospect for Epsom. The team behind the proposed transformation, have two pubs in Kingston that always have a great atmosphere and friendly staff and regulars. Prices/food and decor are first on the list! Well worth a visit in the near future, once they have stamped their mark, Epsom will never be the same again! Posting a rating of 6, based on previous knowledge of the pub, but would expect that to increase when the changes start to come into affect. Cartyboi - 16 May 2011 15:18
