Located at the southern end of the High Street, it has a square shaped lounge with the bar largely in the centre. It is rather dingy inside, made worse by the dark paint on the walls and the low ceilings. It seems a friendly pub and the lounge is comfortable. It had 3 cask ales when I was in there, London Pride, Doom Bar and Sambrook Wandle Ale. The latter was very pleasant. Food seemed a little expensive but I wasn't eating so I couldn't comment on its value for money. boozers_knows - 20 Dec 2011 15:11
Visited the Marquis last week and had a fantastic time. FANTASTIC fresh food which is great to see for a pub and an extensive menu. Friendly service and a fab atmosphere overall. Not just handy for popping in for a pint but a really brilliant gastropub.... I'll definatly be heading back soon. nairnster - 7 Dec 2011 17:25

Oh it's the art school mob that drinks in there is it? I thought it had to be someone like that, all very chiselled they were. Only one real ale (London Pride) but when you consider the range of lagers and certainly not the bog standard cooking lagers either, request for which would be met with a raised eyebrow a la Gromit, this is perh not surprising. rainlight - 22 Jul 2011 08:17
I went here yesterday for lunch after being dragged around town shopping, I have to say the beer ( a Polish one ) and apparently a recent brand to the pub tasted like it was off, which I presume the pipes were dirty. Anyhow the food on the other hand was absolutley devine, yes DEVINE!! A pork Belly which melted in your mouth and a 21 day hung beef roast which was cooked beautifully. Some of the best food I've had in a life time. The service wasn't amazing but OK and there was a bit of a quiff from the bogs, it was a pity about the beer. It was surprisling quiet for a Sunday lunch, defenitly a place which should be heaving but isn't. I would return for food and probably order a bottled beer next time. makemineacold1 - 24 Jan 2011 13:08
