A H&W Pub, but also now my local. Beer is well kept and although not cheap it's not extortionate. Spirits are expensive. Food is also good with a wide choice - for the most part cooked fresh. Learn what to avoid! The service can lack a little when it's busy but I've found the staff to be friendly and pleasant and keen to rectify any issues that might occur. Yamesh - 2 Oct 2010 13:45
Good to have a H & W Pub in the area, serves some good stuff on tap and the food isn't bad. good seating outside for a nice cold beer in the british sunshine Huw628 - 23 Jun 2009 06:30
Most improved pub. I didnt go there anymore because they charged too much money for avarage food and the staff where always horrible. Now it's got a new landlord, lowered prices (5.99 / meal), installed kids play things in the back garden and the (mostly new staff) are really nice. And if you life locally you may even be lucky and get a free bottle of wine with vouchers that are in the local newspaper. Going back now quite often. appeland - 26 May 2009 11:23
Three Hall & Woodhouse beers on offer which are usually in decent condition. I think the staff were on their summer holidays. One barmaid and one waitress on a Wednesday lunchtime made service rather slow. It might have helped if the waitress was capable of carrying more than one meal at a time. One meal out and no empty plates on the return journey is not an efficient use of time. Nearly £10 for a cheese and bacon burger is too expensive in my opinion. Okay for a business lunch but there is room for improvement. GazzaTheBeerMan - 6 Aug 2008 16:01
