| we had our wedding reception here and i have to say it was brilliant,the staff are excellent beyond the call of duty,friendly,professional under pressure, i cant rate this pub high enough.the quality of the beer and food was the clincher in choosing this pub and my god did they do us proud.thanks Jim,you are a pro and it showed. i`ve been drinking in this pub for a while and it is the best proper pub in the area,no one will bother you if you dont want them to,but are friendly and dont bite,you just need to consider how many people passing through they see. the most important thing is to try the London porter on draught ,when its on after the pride its the best beer in England redkev1901 - 9 Oct 2009 13:55 |
| Nice..... I think that there is a link with the easy hotel as was pushed to visit this pub by them. A little confusing but not a traditional pub. I thought it had a 'harvester' feel about it, so I left & found solace in anothe pub nearby. jonty21 - 6 Oct 2009 15:36 |
| The pub was refurbished in February and looks well, as Fuller's did a sympathetic job. This is my regular haunt when working in Hayes. The ales are well-kept Fuller's (including a seasonal) and the food is homemade and served in hearty portions. Customers are friendly and bar staff welcoming and efficient. | I quite like this pub and come here every month after my union meeting. The pub is generally very good and on the odd occasion it has been off when told they have taken it off or changed the barrel which is a nice change. It's no pricier than the rest of West London and the clientele are friendly enough but they do mind their own business. It's probably the best pub near Heathrow terminals 1-3 (take the 140 bus and it's ten minutes away). Has the football, does decent food. Pretty good all round. woofhound - 26 Oct 2008 20:27 |
| The London Pride and Discovery were on form as usual. The selection of food is excellent and I can say (a) I’ve never had a bad meal (order the stir-fry orange chicken – magnificent!) (b) the prices are very reasonable and (c) The service is good. The staff are friendly and helpful and you can even get cash-back from the bar! I noted that an earlier posted moaned about the clientele – the pub customers sort themselves out – the artisans and locals go to the left at the entrance, where there’s a big TV and a dart board – others go to the right. As far as the car park is concerned, OK the spaces are a little narrow, but there’s always a space with another on both sides. I’ve never known anyone have any bother. I’ve used the pub to entertain business guests, relatives and friends when I have been in the Heathrow area; all have been impressed with the casual friendliness, the atmosphere and the food and drink. If you are going to meet someone at Heathrow (Terminals 1, 2 and 3) go a bit earlier and call in, and/or on the way back, take them there. greybeard - 1 Feb 2008 00:10 |
