Friendly and efficient bar staff serving excellent pints of Fuller's London Pride and Guinness, which I tried on my visit.

Only downside was a gaggle of British Airways managers blocking the middle of the floor and bar area while they boasted about their 'projects', 'targets' and 'presentations'. They seemed to resent having to move to allow people to get to the bar or loos. That said. it's not the pub's fault some of its customers lack common courtesy! Still worth a visit for a devent pint.

I visited this pub to have some dinner as I was meeting my parents who stayed over night at a nearby hotel. Instead of dining in the hotel, we decided to try a local pub for a more cosy meal. From the moment we arrived, we had to wait to be seated. But after ordering only a main meal, we were left waiting for over 1 hour for the meal to arrive. After complaining several times, I discussed with the manager who told me that because we only ordered a main meal we had to wait longer!! Also no one else seemed to be complaining so he didn't understand why I was upset for waiting over 1 hour to receive our meal. When it eventually arrived, one of the meals (duck) was served cold, so it had to be removed and reheated. The other dishes were not great either. The evening and meal was ruined and we lost our appetite. I would never go back to this pub again for the rude service, the ignorance to the customer and lack of decent cooking.

I had to spend a week staying in the Radisson Edwardian on Bath Row while working in the Heathrow area. Not fancying spending 4 nights sitting in the overpriced hotel bar or eating in the stuffy restaurants I used this website to check out the pubs in the nearby vicinity. Well the Pheasant came up highly rated and just 5 mins walk from the hotel, so I decided that on the Monday evening that’s where I would head for my dinner. Sitting outside the aircraft noise was awful but the Pheasant has a great range of ale on offer, with London Pride at £3 a pint. Lots of TVs to watch Wimbledon highlights and the Euro 2008 matches. Huge menu of food available to order service was good and food quality was better than average and the portions a little on the large side. Pub is pleasant on the inside, bar staff friendly and happy to help, setting up a tab was easy. Couple of nights latter I took some colleagues who were staying in the same hotel they were all impressed and not happy with me that I had not dragged them down to the Pheasant. In summary if you staying in Hotel Row, get out for a walk down to the Pheasant and drink good beer and good pub food in a pleasant environment.

On a recent nostalgia trip visited this pub on a Friday lunch and enjoyed several well kept pints of Fullers' London Pride. Food was decent if a trifle death by chips over load.

Given some of the horror stories these day with the way pubs serve London Pride this pub should be commended for its failure to supply diacetyl.

One niggle would be that the bar area seems set up mainly to serve food to couples rather than for drinkers.
