Busy on Bank Holiday Monday; in fact so busy that drinks orders were being taken (illegally!) at the bar (although my pint of Staropramen was then brought to my outside table). It was too warm a day for the Goffs Cheltenham Gold or one of the other handpulled ales (I think I saw TT's Landlord as well).

The last time I was in this pub earlier this year a local pissed up apache soiled himself at the bar, and I ain't talking fluids. Will NOT be back.

Excellent reasonably priced, local food. Only a couple of real ales on tap although well kept and the best place to get a pint of the locally brewed Jouster. Attached wine shop has an excellent selection, which you can drink in the pub for 5 corkage which is a great deal.

Not so much of a boozer, more of a place to head for a meal with friends or a few drinks with your other half.

Music was not great - quiet enough but very bland - seems to have improved with new staff recently though.

A pleasant place to stay, with an attractive room at a very reasonable price and a good English breakfast, but there was loud music in the bar, so we ate elsewhere.

The food here in both the bar and the dining room is exceptional. Good quality ingredients locally sourced and well presented. The bare area is good and the staff attentive and friendly. The beer (Jouster and Archers) were both excellent. The concept of tasting wine before a meal then paying only 5.00 corkage to drink it is a good one in these days of high mark ups.

This country inn is under new management now, the swedes have left and it is typically british, fantastic food - something for everyone and it is reasonably priced. There is also a wine shop which is fantastic as they do wine tastings for guests!!!! We stayed for a weekend and the hotel side is also brilliant - not one complaint and both me and my partner will be staying next time we are in Winchcombe, all the staff were so friendly and helpful and seemed to really enjoy their work!

Agree that this pub doesn't really know what it's trying to be. All that it ends up being is an expensive with very poor service. Tried to have a full-english, which was possibly the worst i have ever experienced. Cold, greasy, over or under-cooked and no beans.
The a-la carte food in te restuarant just seems to be anything mixed up with mayonnaise.

This pub? is a right mix up. It is part of a hotel so you would expect it to be heavily food orientated and indeed there are three menus visible. Firstly one with mains at around 15-20 as you would expect where rooms are around 150 per night. The second is for pizza at 7-8 and then there is a Swedish menu which is cheaper but I do not know whether these are meals size dishes or a scandinavean version of Tapas.
Decor wise the pizza have there own pizzarie at the back whilst the main bar area was split into 3 one with white painted wooden chairs for eating and pine tables in the other 2. Modern style candles were supplement by dim lighting that reflected light on the ceiling whilst looking like plain light bulbs from below with the walls 'decorated' with a drape of hops. These look as though they have been there so long that they look completely withered on the vine over the matting like carpet.
Beers served were Greene King IPA, Wadsworth 6X and Archers which averaged over 2.50 a pint (one round comprising all 3)
Was surprisingly busy but then we realised a lot of the tarted up girls later appeared in the Sun (not the newspaper but the pub round the corner).
Still confused.
