Had a pretty good steak here and the beer is pretty good too. Excellent location and good service.

Well worth a visit. Lunched with friends whilst on holiday and all eight of us were appreciative of the choice of food (excellent menu and much more in additon to pub fayre) and drinks. There were five real ales and all in good condition. If only this was my local.

This friendly establishment offers good value in comfortable surroundings. Highly recommended home-made food, Camra approved ales, well chosen wines and a huge malt whiskey selection make the Brook House well worth a visit. If you can’t bear the stuffed animals in the main bar, there is always the cosy snug, smart restaurant or on a nice day, the beer garden.

Lovely place to eat and drink after a hard day on the fells. Great bustling atmosphere and good service from the friendly staff. The beers are always in top-notch condition and represent some of the smaller Lakeland breweries. For me, personally, it's always good to see a Yate's beer after a long walk!! The excellent food comes in good quantities and you'll find it hard to have three courses, so choose if you want to go starter/main or main/dessert beforehand. Can't comment on the accomodation yet as I've not stayed there, but will keep it in mind as a place to stay for our next visit to the area.

Nice pub/hotel with a fine range of real ales. All the ones I tried (all of them over the night) were well kept. Accomodation is nice if a little overpriced but most accomodation is in the Lakes. Choice of restaurant or bar menu. We ate in the restaurant but the food was pub standard really. Nothing wrong with it, but if you're going to sell things at higher prices in the restauarnt you need to up your game. Over the evening a number of locals dropped in along with some other hotel guests. We found ourselves talking with a couple who live less than 2 miles from us and a couple of regulars. I suspect a lot of the dogs round here get quite a few "walkies" that involve a stop here as there were several dog walkers called in during the evening.

After a day spent walking up Sca Fell and back, the Brook House was a most welcome find. a lovely piece of sirloin and several pints of well kept ale soothed the aching feet. The 'Celtic Warrior' was especially good. Good pub.

An excellent family run pub which welcomes regulars and first time visitors alike. The comfortable bar area serves snacks and full meals every day. There is also a seperate restaurant area. Up to 6 real ales - a changing selection often from local Cumbrian breweries and always in good condition. Also a fine selection of malt whiskies. Can get busy during summer but thats what you must expect in the Lakes! Comfortable good value accomodation is available.

The best place to drink in Boot; imaginative selection of beers even in winter - Landlord as a permanent, with Ram Tam making an appearance, alongside local beers. Food is good and not too expensive. Will be even better from 1 April when it goes non-smoking throughout - in advance of the competition.

Real Ales continue to be imaginatively chosen and well served. up to 6 with a real cider, now. More on at the Boot Summer and Winter Beer Festivals which get more and more popular each year, with many, many beers available at the three pubs at this end of the valley. This place is run by a family who care about it - and it shows!

The unassuming exterior of the Brook House Inn belies the treat that's in store. Firstly, you'll find four or more excellent real ales, with regulars such as Timothy Taylors Landlord, and guests like Hart's "Siren" from Lancs. But as if that wasn't enough, there's an extensive and imaginative menu with something to suit every palate. I enjoyed a roast duck which was superb - easily the best meal of my week in the Cumbria. Coupled with friendly staff, a comfortable bar and eating areas, and incredible views, this pub is hard to beat. Getting to it by car will mean braving incredibly narrow windy roads, or the steep Hardnott Pass, but then it's right next to the last stop on the La'al Ratty railway, plus they offer accomodation so there really is no excuse! Don't leave the Lakes without trying this place!
