The Ball Tree Inn, Sompting

a nice sunny octobers day, with three children we needed a family pub with a large play garden. we where given a warm welcome,we ordered our drinks and made our way to garden .the landlord followed inflated a dirty bouncy castle then proceeded to work his way around the play area with a shovel and large dirty plastic bin trying to shovel up large amounts of large dog poop .not quite the right setting to let the children play and it put me right off my sunday dinner .we still drunk our slightly under-par london pride left and will never return

The Hangleton Manor, Hangleton

A nice pub with three bars the front bar is old style and fits in the lovely with the grade one listed building the back bar has a juke box pool table and sky TV and backs on to the large garden and patio both with ample seating the third is used for private functions they normally have a choice of two real ales on offer and it has been in good condition when I have visited its a bit pricey this pub lacks something for I me I always want to move on

The Hikers Rest, Brighton

Very similar to the The Bevendean Hotel, basic pump beer larger pub no call for real ale all welcome but remember do not to upset the locals from the tough surrounding estates unless you enjoy a 10 on 1 fight

The Swan Inn, Falmer

The good points the beer is excellent you must try the palmers from Bridgeport Dorset
The pub has kept the old fashioned feel .The landlord is great lover of old railways and classic cars and local politics get him talking on theses subjects and he will talk all night I have never tried the food but the Sunday roast seems very popular
The bad points remember the old drinking hours this pub still sticks by them. For a free house the prices should be a little lower has far has I know the landlord has never brought anyone a drink and wears trousers without pockets if you have been on the receiving end please e mail me. The landlord hates smoking, football and will make this point heard. Brighton football club have been given the green light to build there new stadium opposite wear a football shirt in this pub and you will be barred overall view a very nice pub with no smoking bars and good beer
