it is indeed a transformation, but the food has not improved. they are still in this cycle of using that well known brand of catering food supplies...we all know and hate.

i had the pie...which is not a pie. it is a casserole with a pastry lid. why do all these pubs do this now. i want to start a revolution to bring back the REAL pie. lets stand up and demand a proper pie, its our heritage.

i frequent this establishment at least once a month, and invariably go for the duck. in fact i normally order it because they change the menu every day. it is tender moist and cooked to perfection. i am not a chef but it seems to me the hotter a meat is inside the more well done it will be.....any chefs out there? the food is always very good and the family that run it are always courtious and bubbly. if they were rude i wouldn't like to think what this customer must have done. we will be back as usual next month, see you then alfold barn.

Another pub up for sale....at least hall & woodhouse are keeping it as a pub. The chap wasnt the friendliest.
