| Met some friends here for lunch and it was a good choice. Extensive menu, full meals or lunchtime/lighter menu available. Very pleasant service. We only had soup and sandwiches, but it was all very good. I had a very nice well kept couple of pints of Timothy Taylors. | Went to a reception after a memorial service in the church opposite. These can be a bit of a trial, given that one is mourning the loss of a friend or loved one, but the staff were excellent, coping very well with the sudden rush of more than 200 people. Excellent Timothy Taylor Landlord and Surrey Hills Greensand IPA, and a Dark Star beer (not Hophead) and another Sussex micro were also on the hand pumps as well as London Pride. The hot snacks were ideal for a cold and crisp afternoon when you want a little food but not too much. The regular menu looked good, and if I lived in Warnham, I would be in there every evening. | very strange posting there Virg02.... had many pies here in the past and they were always cut form a whole pie dish with pastry on top and below. So the wife and I went back to check and had lunch there today. Not only the usual pies on the blackboard but also a special pie menu on a seperate piece of paper. I had the lamb and cranberry pie and it was excellant, washed down with a pint of ruby mild followed by a Tim Taylor Landlord both on fine form. fullbelly - 22 Mar 2011 16:39 |
