Jubilee Inn, Pelynt

we called in a few weeks ago for a swift one, on the way to the spar shop in plynt. sampled the proper job and finished up having a session . a bit expensive but still good value, i tend to forget about the price when i find a truly remarkable beer. well worth a visit for this alone.

Arkwright Arms, Chesterfield

we have started to go in this place more often , once or twice a week, the beers all seem to be first class. just yesterday evening i enjoyed half a dozen pints of whim hartington bitter it was superb. they certainly have some great talent in the cellar and by the look of the food going out, which we are yet to try, have some serious talent in the kitchen too. they seem particularly veggie friendly with their christmas menu, which for us is a great idea. the walls are adorned in camra pub of the year certificates for the last few years which seems to signal their intent. this pub is one of the few pubs in the chesterfield area that seems to be pleasantly busy whenever you go in which gives it a nice atmosphere. the staff all seem great and the place is spotlessly clean, not one of those where you wish the smoking ban could be relaxed.10/10

The Cheshire Cheese Inn, Hope

we have been going in this pub for a few weeks now! the beers are farmers blonde, peak ales swift nick, copper dragon pippin and best. they are all around the 4% mark. there is no black sheep, landlord said the quality wasnt right. but the four he does have are very well presented. my wife says they have a good wine list. we have had dinner there the last few saterday evenings and enjoyed everything we have eaten, the staff professional and chef great. as for the locals, well it is their pub and will be there long after we have gone.
