My pint of Proper Job wasn't in tip top condition.
Although I normally avoid keg beer like the plaque, I did try half of Mena Dhu Stout and it was very nice. So it should be at £2.25

Service hasn't particularly improved since the last reviewer's visit. Friendly enough but they seemed overwhelmed until just 3 tables remained (15 minutes to get a menu). My pint of Tribute was expensive for this type of place at £3.95. Proper Job is £4.05. Still, my gammon steak was nice (and arrrived quickly once ordered). Patio has a view of an old garage (or similar) and you might be better sitting inside. At the other end of the village in the old school is the Pelynt Social Club which anyone can join for £1 and which sells much cheaper drinks.

We went there for dinner on Saturday night and were told there would be a one-hour wait for food, despite our having booked. There was only one other couple in the dining room besides us, but two other parties arrived soon after. When we ordered, the waitress said it would be a half-hour wait, which it proved to be. The food was excellent. Prices were about average for pub grub, which is not bad for Cornwall in August. The only disappointment was when we wanted to pay. We asked for the bill, which was brought to us, then the waitresses disappeared. You would think having brought the bill, they would return fairly soon to collect it. Apart from that hiccup, a very good evening. Your order your drinks at the bar - a good variety of Cornish ales on offer.

Glad to take refuge from typical Cornish weather - showers in between rain.
Tribute, Trelawny and the superb Proper Job on offer.

Nice pub with same beers as a couple of years ago.
The Proper Job being the most expensive at £3.70 a pint.
Good Sunday roasts for £8.95 but very filling.
