Had an excellent pint of Sixpenny IPA in this very pleasant country pub after our bike ride.

The Bridge Hotel, Buttermere

We had a drink here on Saturday after a long walk with our dogs and couldnt fault it. The bar lady was really friendly and even came over and gave our dogs treats. The conniston bluebird was excellent.

Swinside Inn, Keswick

We stayed here last weekend with our two dogs and cant fault it. A warm welcome, good food, good beer(Deuchars) and a loverly room. Our group of runners/wallkers all eat here over the weekend and they thought the same.
Its in a fantastic location with great views of Newlands valley.
We will be returning.

The George Inn, Hubberholme

Eat and drank here the day before Le Tour came through nearby. Landlord let us park and use the loos before we walked. Returned to a loverly pint of Velo and a ploughmans, our dogs were welcomed. Cant fault this place, superb location on the Dales way and good beer. Worth a visit as is the historic church opposite.

The Rock Point Inn, Lyme Regis

I agree with the previous coment, as we went in for coffee whilst waiting for the bus with a view to returning for a pint on completion of our walk back from Seaton. The guy serving was clearly put out by serving us and unfriendly. We didnt return and instead had a nice drink at the Harbour Inn.

Stopped here on a cold Monday lunchtime in late November, warm and welcoming, had a pint of St Austells Propere stuff which was very goof as was the cornish pasty. Partner had soup of the day which was also very good. The dogs enjoyed the open fire.
The location is superb looking across the water to Plymouth, had a nice walk round Edgecombe house grounds prior

Excellent walkers pub, good choice of beers, honest filling food, welcomes dogs no matter how wet and dirty like their owners after a day on the fells.

The New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, Langdale

The pub in the pictures is the Old Dungeon Ghyll, half a mile up the road.

Three Shires Inn, Little Langdale

Worth a detour on a blustery day in the Lakes, roaring fire and a good pint of Conniston Old man, dogs allowed in public bar

The Stickle Barn Tavern, Great Langdale

A bit smarter and touristy than the ODG , but great beer and food with a much appreciated wood burner roaring away after a tab up the hills. Dog friendly(free biscuits, just a donation to the mountain rescue) and good seating outside, just need to solve the wiff of the sceptic tanks, but still a top pub. so good we never made it to the New dungeon ghyll next door.

The New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, Langdale

This reveiw is for the OLD dungeon Ghyll(ODG) hotel, the refrences and picture are of the Odg.
Top pub, the walkers bar is what it says on the door - for walkers , 2 legged and four all made very welcome, reasonably priced and generous portions of food in probally the best location for a pub in the lake district. Beer is great especialy the black sheep bitter and the conniston bluebird. Walk and crawl back and forth from here and the stickle barn and you wont go far wrong.

The Square and Compass, Worth Matravers

Great pub, top notch Palmers copper ale and a cracking real pasty. What more could you ask for? Oh a view to die for on a glorious easter monday. Its a well known place both locally and nationaly , so dont bitch about the negatives(busy, grockules etc) just enjoy.
