Huntsman and Hounds, Upminster

Will not be visiting again, Last night I arrived with my girlfriend to find 3 bar staff on duty, one was changing a barrel one was serving while the other was counting bottles of beer " stock take " the girl that was serving had a " I do not want to be here " look on here face and was slow at serving add to this we have 2 men that spent £6 on beer then paid by card which just is a joke she then decides that saying " who is next " is beyond her so she served people that had just walked in first possibly because they are locals and then went to serve one of the locals that was propping up the bar before I walked in..... she made eye contact with me a couple of times so I was not invisible she just chose to serve others first in what is a large bar area.

I stopped going to the railway at Hornchurch after the bar staff decided that they would serve the locals first including saying to one man standing behind me " the usual is it " and handing him a pint over my shoulder. after standing in the huntsman and hounds long enough for my girlfriend to read the menu decide what she wanted to eat then sit waiting wondering where I was we left. and will not return, we usually visit 2-4 times per month and always eat but being served has always been a little frustrating and last night was the final straw. so good luck in serving the locals and the numerous wakes that attend and probably save the pub from going under.

The Liberty Bounds, Tower Hill

Visited monday, and maybe not again, no problem with the drinks or service... Its the price this is a wetherspoons a tradition of wettherspoons is food and drink cheaper than its competitors...... not this one... a pint of amstel 3.40, a pint of carlsberg 3.70, more expensive than most other pubs in the area

The Dickens Inn, Tower Hill

Been visiting this pub for over 20 years..... the pizza on the second floor was always good but visited Monday and the prices were hiked....... a medium pizza for 2 was 25, add a couple of starters and a bottle of wine and you are up to 50, when I visited a month or so ago the pizza was 18 so I do not see any justification In this rise In price..... will pop in for a drink but will not eat..... maybe the tourists are happy to pay But I am not....

The Dickens Inn, Tower Hill

I have been Going to this pub since 1987, and until recently have had very mixed thoughts about it, now its improved a lot staff are friendly, the ground floor cafe has closed and generally its a good place to have a drink..... a pint of grolsch is 3.30 and thats no different to any town in britain cost wise..... one warning its popular with tourists if you see anyone going to the bar with a note pad or piece of paper run and get there first.... had one person i just beat order 60 drinks for his group another ordered over 40. all in all a good experience....

Queen Victoria, Theydon Bois

well i have visited this pub many times its the only pub i have visited where you will 100% get a correctly poured pint of beer, all of the staff know how to pour a pint that is full and correct, the beer is always spot on, mind your head on entering as its a old pub and 200 years ago people were shorter so if you are 6 foot be aware.. :)

The Dickens Inn, Tower Hill

visited a few days ago the grolsch was warm in the downstairs pub, decided to have a pizza in the restaurant upstairs, the place was very busy so why employ so few staff, the service was a joke, ordered drinks and a pizza and got the pizza before the drinks, the problem is that its a tourist haven one visit never to return if it was a not a tourist pub the locals would never use it more than once. 2 waiting staff to cover a packed restaurant.

Yates's, Bournemouth

The Moon in the Square, Bournemouth

typical wetherspoons rammed with customers, not enough staff to serve and a good old duty manager that watches the chaos without lifting a finger to help...grubby tables, but i have not found a wetherspoons thats does not have grubby tables due to lack of staff and organisation...service was ok after the standard wait.

The Oxo Tower Bar, Southbank

i have visited twice, the first time was good service was good....pricey but i knew that before arriving, quite small inside very busy bottled beer around 4, cocktails around 8.....bollinger a mere 400 a bottle, a mixture of tourists and posers, the second time i visited was last saturday but there were no vacant tables...no vacant chairs and i prefer to sit rather than stand

The Spanish Galleon, Greenwich

i arrived with my girlfriend....at the weekend pub was packed, had to wait a few minutes for a table....a tad over priced.sunday lunch at 8.50 each choice of meals the traditional roast was ok, but i chose fish and chips the fish was the smallest portion i had ever seen barely more in quantity than a fish finger, in all the place was packed...mainly with tourists the service was good...shame about the tiny fish
