Market Tavern (Lincoln Square), St Helens

Refurbished this year. Outside area to rear should be great for summer. Plenty screens with many different programmes. 4 cask ales changing. BIG improvement..... Cheap as we'll

The Queens Head, Stow on the Wold

Had the Donningtons BB and a Sunday roast. Both very enjoyable and excellent service. Good traditional pub. Plenty options in Stow but this is a must try.

Generally two or three cask ales on offer. Excellent food and very good service. Some very challenging portions if you upgrade.

Griffin, Eccleston

A little overpriced compared with other pubs in St.Helens but a good choice (4) real ales and well kept. Black Sheep is a regular for now with others changing. Sky sports all rooms and a big screen. Not eaten but menu and food looks very good, There was plenty of clean plates.

The Royal Tavern, St Helens

Now revamped again. The Bureau clean and clinical, all the old has gone along with the real ale. The heart has been ripped out with the character.. shame
