The Prince of Wales, Glossop

Nice traditional pub. I tried the Marstons Pedigree which was OK, but not the best I have ever tasted. Well worth a visit though.

The Oakwood, Glossop

Started our pub crawl of the evening here and enjoyed one of their excellent home made beef burgers and "real" fries. Robinsons beer was of good quality and the whole place has a very traditional feel to it.

Norfolk Arms, Glossop

Comfortable town centre pub. The Holts beers were not really to my taste, but neverthless acceptable. Visited on part of a crawl and was starting to get very busy, so we moved on!!

The Star Inn, Glossop

Visited with friends over New Year as part of a pub crawl. Without doubt the best Pub of the evening, friendly traditional place with a good selection of guest beers, well impressed.

The Globe Hotel, Glossop

Visiting friends in Glossop over Christmas and New Year so ended up on a pub crawl. This place was by far far the worst pub we visited. The home brewed beer must be made with the cheapest of ingredients, it was absolutely disgusting, thin and still had the disinfectant taste I remember from my visit a year ago. Anyone who drinks this rubbish may as well be drinking dish water!

The Globe Hotel, Glossop

Visiting friends in Derbyshire who are vegetarians, and they suggested this pub to visit on Saturday evening. Very pleasant traditional pub and excellent good value food, unfortunately let down by the beer that the landlord brews on the premises. The first pint I ordered looked and, initially, tasted OK, but quickly gave way to an unpleasant taste. The bar staff were happy to change it for a different one, but this also had the similar after taste. Decided to settle for the bottled larger which was fine. In retrospect I should have noticed that, whilst the pub was very busy, the majority of customers were not drinking the pub brewed beer.
