The Crown and Thistle, Northiam

An unchanged pub that feels like a pub should be. Plenty of ales, friendly staff and wonderful garden. Had a sandwich for lunch - all good.

The Punch And Judy, Covent Garden

Don't bother - no proper beer and typical tourist pub with unfriendly staff. Good location but that's it

27 Aug 2011 19:07

The Golden Lion Inn, Padstow

good pub - more a 'local' than the usual Padstein pubs. food & beer good

16 Jul 2011 20:12

Brendon Arms, Bude

Good pub with local ales and the food is cheery pub grub

16 Jul 2011 20:09

Old Wainhouse Inn, Wainhouse Corner

Spent week in North Cornwall and found this pub on the way back from Bude on our last day of the holiday. Looks a bit cheesy from the outside and we were expecting the worse but how wrong we were - execllent Doombar beer and the food was also excellent. My wife had a burger with proper chips, not oven ready chips! Just wich we had sound the place earlier

16 Jul 2011 18:41

The Rock Point Inn, Lyme Regis

Excellent position and views over the bay but sadly a shabby run down pub - only one draft ale and the food was abysmal

15 May 2011 09:42

The George, Charmouth

Went here after a walk from Lyme and was pleased with the range of ales particulary Otter. We had the carvery which was excellent which we ate in the beer garden. Recommended

13 May 2011 17:21

The Nags Head, Lyme Regis

Went to the Nag to watch football and depsite my team losing had a good time. Excellent beer and well kept- Otter Ale. Off the the tourist spot and was full of locals who all seemed friendly

13 May 2011 17:13

The Volunteer Inn, Lyme Regis

Best pub in Lyme! Great selection of beer and cider served by a cheery barmaid and good food.

13 May 2011 17:10

The Pilot Boat Inn, Lyme Regis

This pub has a great location but it's a dump. Only one draught beer as all the others were off and the food was terrible.

13 May 2011 17:06

French Connection, Ashford

I have had the misfortune of going to this pub before and despite vowing to never return, I did due to the fact that we were looking at cars and in the area and the pub was nearby and we were hungry.

Well, nothing has changed - dark, tired and shabby. Our table had scratch marks on it made presumabley by a knife. God awful tetley beer and a range of canned draft beers. Food abmissal. Avoid the place unless you like Brewster Bears or a very down market Harvester.

The Perch and Pike, South Stoke

I have been going the Perch for the past 10 years well ever since my sister moved to South Stoke and despite the ever changing landlords, would give it 8/10.

Excellent beer and friendly staff but haven,t eaten there for a while so can't comment

27 Jan 2011 07:07

The New Inn, Winchelsea

Pretty average really, beer OK and well kept and food adequate. My might go back just for the lovely garden

27 Jan 2011 07:01

The Fortescue Inn, Salcombe

Good selection of beer and cider - I went for the Westons Old Rosie (cider) good stuff but strong 7%! Food was normal pub grub and eneviable oven ready chips. The staff were friendly enough but the locals a bit hostile - whinging that it was more like restaurant than a pub. Well keep it as just a pub and you'd have one less drinking hole in Salcombe

17 Jul 2010 16:05

The Tradesman Arms, Stokenham

Good little pub and some good beers. Food was fine but the dreaded oven ready chips still make an appearance! Very friendly

17 Jul 2010 15:54

Nags Head, St Leonards on Sea

Went in here for something to eat - not hot food but great beer and atmopshere. Typical old local - good!

10 May 2010 20:20

The Moon Under Water, Leicester Square

Normal spoons but probably worse than the average. Plus side - cheap beer and food. Negatives - plastic glasses and pretty awful food

10 May 2010 20:09

The Black Lion, Appledore

Never really liked this pub having found it always a bit grotty. Good outside seating and the beer is OK. never eaten there since a poor meal about 10 years ago so not really being fair

20 Apr 2010 23:10

Cock Inn, Peasmarsh

Not a bad pub with good outside facilities for young children. Food was typical low cost pub grub. Beer was OK. No real comments and can't get really too excited about the cock

20 Apr 2010 23:04

The Ship Inn, Rye

Well being a local things have to be good and they weren't about 18 months - expensive and rubbish food. Much better now with some good local ciders and casks ales. Food was good but expensive

14 Feb 2010 19:35

The Harrow, Hastings

Well, we went in this pub because we needed some food. The Shep's was fine and well kept. The barmaid or is it 'barperson' was friendly and explained that they were having another change of management, the tenth in 4 years. Clearly a pub having problems - Sunday lunchtime and only 10 people in the place. An out of date dump really and only the redeeming points were the friendly staff

4 Jan 2010 19:11

The Royal Hotel, St Leonards on Sea

Only went to this pub because we needed some food. Directors was fine and the food was cheap and excellent.

4 Jan 2010 19:02

The Horse and Groom, St Leonards on Sea

Typical St Leonards boozer. Adnams was fine and the atmosphere OK. Liked it

4 Jan 2010 18:59

Cinque Port Arms, Rye

Typical small town boozer - live music on Sundays which is fine, Good Shep's beer

20 Sep 2009 13:02

The George Inn, Weymouth

Enjoyed a pint of the local cider at this pub - cheap! Good location and friendly staff

18 Sep 2009 17:03

Rendezvous, Weymouth

This is obvisously a young person's 'club' type pub but has a great location on the river. Popped in for a pint and meet up with family for lunch. Normal collection of tinned draft beers - Stella, Fosters and other junk. Service was awful, during my ordering a round the person serving me decided to serve some chips up to a table, not her fault just bad organisation. Didn't bother to eat. Avoid - unless you are a clubbing type who likes Fosters and music that resembles a car a alarm going off

18 Sep 2009 16:59

The Red Lion, Weymouth

I enjoyed this pub and sat out and ate on two occaisons which were both good - fish cakes. Can't remember the beer but is was good! Staff friendly

18 Sep 2009 16:33

Bridport Arms Hotel, West Bay

Beer was fine! Palmers Gold. Food was OK - mussels were fresh, I think and my wife stuck with the scampi. Sat outside on a hot September afternoon which was fine apart from the picnic benches - very 80's and uncomfortable. Staff friendly

18 Sep 2009 16:22

The Ferrybridge Inn, Weymouth

OK pub, friendly barman and the cider I had was execellent - can't remember the name but some local stuff. Other beers were Stella and normal John Smith's rubbish. Only had the one pint so can't really rate it

18 Sep 2009 16:17

The Queens Head, Icklesham

I often walk from Rye to Icklesham with friends and the dog and always visit the Queens. Good beer and the pub grub is excellent coupled with a great view - what else do you need. Good pub which just keeps the standard up

6 Sep 2009 01:26

The Slug and Lettuce, Fulham

Used to drink here before the game at Chelsea but defected to 'Spoons' just up the road. Pricey and grubby

30 Aug 2009 09:09

The Oyster Rooms, Fulham

Good pub and the beer is cheap being a 'Spoons' and great for Chelsea pre-match drinks. Food was OK

30 Aug 2009 08:20

The Woolpack Inn, Warehorne

More like a restaurant really but I suppose pubs can't rely just on beer. Beer was good but food disappointing and expensive. The pub is in a beautiful location but seems to have a sterile atmsophere not as I remember it

2 Aug 2009 08:28

Lugger Inn, Polruan

Good selection of beers and cider and a great location. Food is usual pub stuff, fortunatley they had lemon sole on the specials which was very tasty. Served with bloody garnish and 'old' new potatoes. I'd go elsewhere to eat as there are plenty of other pubs in Fowey and Polruan

11 Jul 2009 08:17

Jubilee Inn, Pelynt

Beer Ok but expensive. The food was terrible! How do pubs get away with selling this junk? I had some chicken/bacon thing massacred by the microwave with the envitable oven ready chips and of course - a wallop of garnish. Tacky tables and outdated decor - a dump but popular

11 Jul 2009 08:10

The Old Plough House Inn, Duloe

Beer good - food a bit average. Friendly staff, in all - OK

10 Jul 2009 22:52

The Blue Peter, Polperro

Good beer and the fish pie was excellent

10 Jul 2009 22:42

Trafalgar Tavern, Greenwich

Can't really judge the ale as I went for the cider, which was OK. Great location overlooking the Thames and ideal on a hot day but the food was overpriced and bloody awful - avoid the chicken supreme sandwich with the envitable oven ready chips unless you like burnt anyhthing and cardboard chips for 10

16 Jun 2009 20:42

The Red Lion, Southwold

To be fair only had a beer here and it was OK but the pub seem to lack any atomsphere but it was mid week and March. Friendly staff and locals.

26 Mar 2009 14:25

The Lord Nelson, Southwold

Great pub - friendly, great beer and the food was good pub nosh.
Seems to attract the locals and the place was heaving on a damp March Wednesday night, says something

26 Mar 2009 14:22

The Harbour Inn, Southwold

Expensive! Kipper and chips (oven ready) was nearly 9, plus the beer was overpriced. Friendly staff and good view back to Southwold.
Open fire was good

26 Mar 2009 14:19

The Sole Bay Inn, Southwold

I seem to remember the pub was a lot different in 1997 when we came last and not as good. It was OK and the beer was fine (Adnams Broadside). Food was OK, invetiable garnish and oven ready chips with the pie. Was going to use as the main watering hole for our short break but defected to the Nelson

26 Mar 2009 14:13

The Royal Oak, Romney Marsh

Surprised no one has done a review - excellent pub. We have had 2 christmas do's here and the food is really good! Beer -well kept,
Mostly locals use it, Kent and East Sussexers., and love it for quality food and a good welcome

23 Dec 2008 19:57

Hot September day and sat outside. Nice pint of cider and the pasties are great

28 Sep 2008 09:21

The Beaver Inn, Appledore

Beer OK, food - typical pub stuff and not very exciting. Friendly staff and a great view over the estuary

28 Sep 2008 09:18

Coach and Horses, Appledore

The 'local'in Appledore.Friendly staff and locals, live music and sky TV in the back room, the only pub for footy in Appledore.
Good range of beers and local cider

28 Sep 2008 09:16

The George Inn, Rye

Recently boycotted by locals due to their policy of no drinking if your'e not eating policy on the weekend.
Anyway - overpriced! 4.50 for a small glass of wine!

They can stick it

21 Jun 2008 08:22

The Pipemarkers Arms, Rye

Good local pub with sky for footy. No frills and the town needs this type of boozer

19 May 2008 22:01

The Plough, Cock Marling

Good food - great sunday lunch. Beer kept well. Can be a bit tatty outside - untidy and gives a false impression.
have had a a good number meals here

19 May 2008 21:57

The Green Owl, Camber
