A local - lots of black paint - don't remember being particularly inspired by the beer.

Great old pub. Nice beers. Nice location in the centre of Ockbrook. Ockbrook Big Band plays here often on a Sunday evening. Great swing band - whatever happened to that great bari sax player.

Reasonably large pub to the northern side of Derby. A few beers on sale and usually a guest beer - all good quality.
Mixed age groups. Good menu typical of an Ember Inn I think.

Ye Olde Gate Inne, Brassington
A rather old pub in the heart of Derbyshire. Superb old interior. Some good beers and a rather nice menu.

Nice beer. Old pub not very inspiring or attractive. Certainly a locals pub but welcoming all the same. Interesting interior.

Excellent food especially the Sunday Lunch menu.

Fairly small pub. Has some nice beers. A little 'localish' in feel. Great location for the railway station.

Smashing remote pub located close to the South Downs, excellent walking country.

Nice brick built pub possibly 100 years old. A small number of real ales. Rather smoky at times. Good size car park. Nice location.

Great range of beers. Excellent fairly small venue for seeing live bands. Quite a number of tribute bands play here and due to the low ceiling and dark interior of the band room it's sometimes almost as if it were the band - also helps if you have sampled a number of beers first.

Nice pub, nice location. Beer price is excellent. Pity the downstairs bar is so rarely open.
