The Nags Head, Welling

Not since it was a beefeater restaurant have I been so keen to eat here. The menu is extensive, reasonably priced and the food itself very good. The staff are very friendly as is the atmosphere. For special occasions I used to go to the M&C at hall place but they have priced themselves out of the game and the nags head is a suitable replacement. Could do with a couple more ales.

The Red Lion, Snargate

Finally got to this pub and was not disappointed. Unique in a good way with good beer and very nice secluded beer garden. Inside was fascinating and welcoming, one day will get to spend the evening in there!

Berkeley Arms, Tewkesbury

This pub is completely different inside from how it appears outside - sadly! Ok for one drink and the jukebox was good but didn't really do it for me. One of those places you go and feel you have to have a drink because you are there but drink up quickly and leave!

The Nottingham Arms, Tewkesbury

Nice 'local' pub with Hobgoblin on tap. Probably wouldn't stay all night but worth a couple of hours

The Bell Hotel, Tewkesbury

Nice pub, nice food just lacks much choice of ales. Would recommend it if you are in town for a few days.

The Royal Hop Pole, Tewkesbury

Stayed in this pub for 2 nights and had a great time. The room was very nice and the pub itself nothing like the normal Wetherspoons. It had load of character and was the busiest pub in Tewkesbury. With the price of drinks you can't go wrong. Ate there one night and had nice 35 day matured steak.

The Rose and Crown Sevenoaks, Sevenoaks

Went in for Sunday dinner booked at 3pm, finally seated at 325 to be told they had run out of roast dinners! Food generally good although one meal was cold and the side dish turned up when the main was finished. I would suggest that the menu is a little overpriced for the portions that are delivered., lamb shank at 11.95 was probably worth 9.95. The pub itself has changed completely from my last visit and although light and airy seems to have lost its charm in favour of modernisation. I have visited this pub 6/7times over the last few years but doubt I would go back to be perfectly honest.

The Queens Head, Icklesham

Nice pub, good beer and lovely beer garden. Will eat next time I go.

The Robin Hood, Icklesham

Finally had dinner in this pub. There was a large choice on the menu and the food was very tasty. The staff were very friendly and the price was very reasonable. Would highly recommend and definitely return. The annual beer fest is definitely worth a trip too.

Robert de Mortain, Hastings

Only popped in for a pint, nice interior if a little devoid of character. IPA and Abbot on tap which were very good. Beer garden looks very nice, will come back when summer is back on. Didn't eat but the menu looked good with reasonable prices.

The Railway Hotel, Appledore

Visited this pub and had the Sunday carvery. Very good value for money, plenty of good quality food and the staff were very friendly. Good selection of desserts too! On tap was Hobgoblin which is rare these days and a nice pint of Tribute.

The Woolpack, Brookland

I have been visiting this pub for a number of years and have always found the food to be of a high standard. I was worried that this may change with the new owners but I have found that it is still very good. We own a caravan at Camber and use this pub at least once on every visit to this area. All of the friends and family we have taken there have been impressed too so it gets my vote. There is a wide variety of food on the menu, the beer is good and the staff friendly and helpful.

The Star, Romney Marsh

Popped in for a quick pint and had a nice pint of Samphire bitter. This was my first visit and there was a nice atmosphere in a pleasant location. Will return when the weather is better and try the food.

The Rose and Crown, Old Romney

Returned to this pub for dinner and had great food at a reasonable price. Good choice on the menu and nice seated area in conservatory overlooking the beer garden. Would return here for food and drink. Because of this I have raised my original rating from 7 to 8.

The Rose and Crown, Old Romney

Only popped in for a quick pint and sat in the beer garden. Seems like a nice pub, beer was good and restaurant looked nice, will give it a go next time.

The Intrepid Fox, St Giles

It was with some trepidation that I visited this pub with friends having heard many negative reviews of the place. However, I have to that my experience presented none of the problems mentioned here and elsewhere. The pub was packed out with a right old mixture of people and there was no apparent tension bubbling under the surface. Service was good for a busy pub, the music was good and the prices weren't too bad either. All in all I would go back.

The Leather Bottle, Cobham

Can't comment on the food as didn't eat there but the people eating looked happy enough. Nice pint of Doom Bar in the garden with some Spring sunshine. Could do with another ale of tap perhaps but a pleasant experience on my visit.

The Shakespeare, Victoria

Popped in on way home from a course and found it to be a pretty naff pub. Being St. Patricks day you would have though there would have been a few special offers but alas no. Didn't try the food but the beer was not impressive, overpriced and the place was pretty messy.

The Britannia Inn, Dungeness

Always had a good experience here with my young children, food and drink v nice. As long as children behave I don't think there is a problem, if it's nice out sit outside and let them run around out there!

Crobar, Soho

Probably wouldn't spend the whole night here as it is small but the booze is cheap especially in happy hour with the Sailor Jerry Rum! Brilliant jukebox and some occasional bands make for a good start or end to a night. Toilets aren't the best but then us metalheads are used to that! I often go here before or after garlic and shots (down in the dungeon of course)

Doggetts Coat and Badge, Southwark

always had a nice time here, good selection of beers, food good too. If the weather is fine and it's not too busy either the garden or riverview areas are great. Pricey but this is London so to be expected.

13 Mar 2011 21:53

Ye Olde Globe Inn, Berrynarbor

used this pub many times on 2 visits to berrynarbor and it was brilliant. Very good for children especially the soft play area that keeps them busy and away from those who don't want to be surrounded by children! Food of good quality although thought the 2009 menu was better than 2010's. Some nice beers but could do with a few more ales

The Pear Tree Inn, Hook Norton

Lovely pub, especially on a cold, wet day sitting in front of the log fire with a nice beer!

The Fanny On The Hill, Welling

Good location, nice building, should be a good pub but it's not!

The New Cross Turnpike, Welling

Decent pub, large variety of drinks at low prices. Food is ok and in my experience has no real problem with drunks etc. Only witnessed one quiz night which was very poor but could have been a one off.

20 Feb 2011 22:30

The Earl Haig, Bexleyheath

Nice pub, good quiz nights and no oiks. Food could be better but reasonable for price.
