The Devonshire Inn, Sticklepath

I'll be honest, I skipped past this pub because it looks derelict from the outside! Now, having read a few reviews I wish I hadn't. The outside needs a coat of white wash and the sign needs a bit of a wipe down as well. Might pick up a few extra punters.

The Taw River Inn, Sticklepath

Was quite busy for a Monday afternoon in wintertime and the beer was above average.

The Front Bar, Falmouth

Dropped in for one as I saw it in the papers and had an excellent pint of Heligans Honey. Could easily have settled down for the afternoon, but had to move on sadly.

The Cadgwith Cove Inn, Cadgwith Cove

Had a fantastic pint of Bettys in here. Can imagine it getting a bit overcrowded in the summer, but on a winter weekend it was excellent. Was driving so I only had the 1, but would love to have stayed.

The Ship Inn, Helston

Rather annoyingly closed on Sundays and Mondays!

28 Feb 2012 15:34

The Trengilly Wartha, Nancenoy

Had an early afternoon pint here, and give the beer full marks. Didn't really feel like a pub though.

Paris Hotel, Coverack

Had a few days down there and popped in a couple of times, but couldn't get very excited about it and wished there was another pub I could try, but its the only one around. However, on my last night there I had an absolutely 1st class fish dish (sorry, can't remember exactly what) but it was a bit of a shock after the previous couple of days!

The Three Tuns, St Keverne

Had a Sunday Roast here - not the best, but above average. Lovely pint of Proper Job though.

28 Feb 2012 15:27

Bell Inn, Helson

Watched a bit of Rugby in here with a pint of Doom Bar. Bit overcrowded because of the rugby, and I've had a better pint.

The Blue Anchor, Helston

Bloody well should have come in here 1st instead of last while I was in Helston. Only had time for one. Must come back one day.

Rodney Inn, Helston

Had a pint of Tribute here in the afternoon, but it wasn't great and nor was the ambience. Couldn't be bothered to finish my beer before moving on.

The Red Lion, Helston

Watched a bit of Rugby in here with a pint of Doom Bar. Bit overcrowded because of the rugby, and I've had a better pint.

The Beehive Bar, Helston

Was going to drop in here, but apparently it turned into Rileys bar at the weekend, and I won't use "Irish themed" pubs

28 Feb 2012 15:17

The Old Inn, Mullion

Had a decent pint here, and would like to have stayed longer, but the bus was due!

28 Feb 2012 15:15

The Mounts Bay, Mullion

Hmm - a bit sterile for me. Didn't have a "pub feel" at all. Looked at the menu, but there was nothing inspiring. Had a decent pint and moved on.

The Witchball, The Lizard

From the outside, it looks as if it might be a restaurant, but its actually a very nice little pub. Could only stay for 1, but it was very nice!

28 Feb 2012 15:12

The Top House, The Lizard

Got off on the wrong foot here - the blackboard outside says it opens at 11:30, but had to wait around outside till 12! However, the Dartmoor was excellent.

28 Feb 2012 15:11

The Royal Marine, Lyne

Had a pint of Doom Bar here, and it was above average. Looks like the pub is closed on Saturday nights through the winter.

The Evening Star, Brighton

"mainstream drinkers might be a bit put out "

Excellent - count me in then!

The Queens Head, Mitcham

A bit odd, but I quite like it nonetheless. Had a dodgy pint there the other week, but it was changed with no dramas.

Hole In The Wall, Brixham

I may be being unfair, but I was planning to visit this pub, but just from the look of it, and the clentelle inside, I decided to give it a miss.

13 Jun 2007 13:31

The Rectory, Purley

Had a look around, but couldn't find any atmosphere. To be fair, I'm probably 25 years older than the average punter there, so not my scene.

12 Jun 2007 13:40

The Jolly Farmers, Purley

A few years ago I vowed never to return after a dealing with a miserable barman. But I've noticed a different look about it recently, and broke my self imposed exile a few weeks ago to catch some music. Sure enough, its much better - probably the best pub in the area now. A couple of good beers on too.

12 Jun 2007 13:37

EllIOTTS, Purley

I've always felt as if the pub goes a bit quiet when I've walked in!! I think its fair to say this is a bar, not a pub.

12 Jun 2007 13:33

The Elephant, Faversham

Best pub in Faversham by a country mile. Always good beer on - and you can't ask for much more than that!

12 Jun 2007 13:31

Wattenden Arms, Kenley

Quite a good pub, but has been better in the past. At its best on a Sunday afternoon in the summer. Food - standard.

12 Jun 2007 13:30

The Kenley Hotel, Kenley

Its a shame. Has the potential to become an excellent pub - its just the regulars! I suppose you have to cater for your regulars, but in this case, I'm sure there are many people who live in the vicinity and would frequent this pub if it were just to lift its standards a little bit.
