The Blackstock, Finsbury Park

I went in there again last night in case my last review was to harsh-well I needed the toilet and I was very desperate.Well the place has got even worse.....!The carpet is better, but the 1st thing you notice when you walk in is the smell. The pubs staff are terrible.Last night there was this fat ugly bird behind the bar sitting on top of the fridge with her feet resting on the shelf holding the pint glasses. There was a man customer just walking round with no drink, crazy drunk shouting at people.Another geezer sleeping in the corner and some old Irish man having a full conversation with himself at the bar.A young bloke was tormenting people saying he was the landlord,I found out he IS the landlords son.He asked me what I was doing there, well it is a pub.
So it smells bad, dirty barstaff, mental customers and a geezer questioning why you're there.

Not for me...!

The Gunners, Highbury

Very poor pub.I'm an arsenal fan but avoid this pub.
The beer is flat and not very cold.
And the place smells of damp.

Lyndhurst Bar, Derby

This is a real dump of a pub.But again I find myself chatting to the locals who are all good people.Rumour has it that you smoke to your hearts content in here,as they dont worry about getting caught.
DJ and Kareoke FRI and SAT night, with Irish music on a sunday afternoon.
I know its a dump,but I like it-Rating-5

The Douglas Bar, Derby

Well what a dump, well its a friendly dump.Needs a very good clean,as do most of the customers. The open fire is great in the winter. There is a rumour that the toilets are haunted.
You have to walk down a little corridor to the toilets, every time I feel like there is something behind me.
You can get early doors here at about 9:30.

Cavendish Hotel, Derby

Its been a long time since i'd been in here, and its still the same groggy pub, with a strange mouldy smell.
A good clean and a coat of paint would help lots.Conveinient as a stop when the missus is in the somerfield accross the road.It could be a nice pub if they tried-Rating-4

The Oakwood Tavern, Oakwood

Funny pub...!Lots of everything.Irish builders drinking in one corner watching the racing, old men in the other and then just a nice mixture of young and old enjoying themselves with no problems. The guvenor Eddie (I think thats his name) working very hard.Typical old Irish landlord, order a drink once and he remembers for the rest of the night. This pub is packed if a big football match is on.There is a Tesco's next door, which is handy for the smokes, but the Tesco manager drinking in the pub while we have to wait in line to be served.I complained and he said that he was off duty in his uniform.
Apart from that idiot, the pub was perfect.-Rating 9

The Enkel Arms, Holloway

I was in there yesterday and its still the same pub with no airs and graces.Loved it,and the prices are cheap too.Rating 7

The Old Kings Head, Holloway

Music is good, but the quality of the beer and the state of the pub is a shambles-rating 3

The Coronet, Holloway

Dont like this pub at all.The pub is clean and tidy, but the building is too big to be a pub.No atmosphere. When its quiet,it feels like you are in a library, even when its busy,it still seems empty. Its a shame as the staff do a god job,but I still feel deflated when I come out.

Bedford Tavern, Finsbury Park

It has indeed closed down.

I was in the last week, and it was as bad as ever.It has never been done up.They have 2 tables outside but you cant sit at them as there were a large group of men eating takaways and drinking Tennents Super beer out of their cans.Inside is not much better. The carpets try to eat your shoes, and the toilets try to choke you to death with the bad smells, thats if you can get in them after waiting for the barman to open the door.I nearly messed myself waiting.
As the previous comment says that the pub has been done up and looks really nice.I would hate to see what he thinks a good pub looks like. Rating 2,as there might be a worse pub out there-who knows

The Vulcan Arms, Peartree

Well what can I say.The pub is a dump.Toilets are a health hazzard. No hot water to wash your hands.I went in the evening a was struggling to hear my mate as all these West Indian men banging dominoes.I mentioned it to the staff and was told there was nothing they can do.Later while having a smoke in the car park I seen a group of youngsters buying and selling stuff. The pub was quite busy, but the staff were not busy, lots of people sitting around not drinking.-i wont be back, but i'll give them a 2 rating as there might be a worse pub out there somewhere.

Bridge Inn, Derby

Lovely pub.People are friendly and the food is good, and staff were very helpfull with my children. On a lovely day,you can sit outside next to the river watching the boats go by.Well worth a try,and right in the city centre too.

The Babington Arms, Derby

An average wetherspoons pub.I don't like wetherspoons pubs and this one didn't change my mind.Locals are mad.I went outside for a smoke, when a man sitting outside asked me to stop smoking.Where did he want me to smoke-the train station.
