Our first stop of a short crawl around this part of Twickenham started at Brouge. This is a gastropub on a fairly busy junction. Seating spreads right around the bar. The permanent ale is Sharp's Doom Bar. There is also a guest from Twickenham. Yesterday, it was Honey Dark. A third handpull has a real cider, which was Lilley's Crazy Goat. The bar has a good selection of Belgian beers, some on tap and some in bottles.

Who wants nice food and amazing service?

I do!

After deciding where to go for a Sunday roast we opted for the Brouge. We had driven passed it countless times and always wanted to try it! Well it did not disappoint!

An exceptional three course Sunday lunch with the family this afternoon. Table of 5 absolutely faultless on all counts. The staff polite and very knowledgeable with the menu items (food and drink). Quick service, portion size on the money too.

A busy lunch service but not cramped, they haven't tried to ram the place full of tables so its very welcoming.

The other diners food looked tasty too, steaks and moules are on the cards for our next visit!

Would highly recommend!

This place is nice but nothing special - it has the feeling of a souless gastro pub but without the good food and is very over priced. Although it does have a good selection of draft and bottled beers, there are local competitors with better selections and cheaper prices and atmosphere. I would come here for a few swift ones after work, maybe even come on a quiz night when i'm feeling a bit flush - definetly not a local though.

Food is always good and the beer selection excellent, but you have to choose wisely. The foreign draught beers are good but the ale is hit and miss. Sent back my vinegary pint only to be told it's meant to be like that! That's strange, as according to the brewery website for that beer I should have been bowled over by elderflower and citric hops! The replacement local ale was ok though.
