Cosy and festive atmosphere albeit getting busy when we were there at 5pm on Friday. The Pickled Partridge ale was perfectly decent without being prize-winning.

Pricey beer for location as others have said. Food OK but stops Sunday lunch at 3pm which seemed early, and had run out of lots of dishes when we were there, bad luck I guess.

The pub is in one of the best locations in Topsham right by the harbour with plenty of outside seating.
Inside does get busy with many meals being served.
The trouble is it's a Hall and Woodhouse pub which mean expensive and a poor choice of beers.
So just a 6/10 from me

My wife and I had lunch in the Lighter Inn last Friday (13/08/10). She drank Tanglefoot which was good and I had a decent glass of South African chenin blanc. Her fish and chips were first rate and my four large sardines were absolutely gorgeous. Service was prompt and courteous and I thought the prices reasonable for the terrific quality meal we had.
