Now called the Culpepper, and is a gastropub. It IS still a pub, though, with a large selection of craft (i.e. expensive bottled) beers, and some proper ales on draught.

Younger crowd, dark with interestingly eclectic decor; pool, table football, chaise lounges etc. Sole ale Spitfire not on. Nearly good, but not quite there.

I remember going to this pub a few years back and it was a great traditional pub with good beer and great Service. I suggested going her for a few drinks after work with some work colleagues. About 12 of us arrived and made ourselves comfortable. The general consensus was that the service was lousy. The girls behind the bar were scruffy, they had no interest in serving the customer with a smile. The beer never topped the edge of the pint glass and each round we had to ask them to top our pints up. A very disappointing evening and a shame because this pub could be a gold mine.

The good: Model spitfire handing from the roof. Pinball machine

The bad: Persistent attempted overcharging by a fake northern guy in a flat cap. Toilet smell throughout pub. Pinball machine located in middle of walkway.

There are *many* quality boozers within a 5 minute walk. Unless they pull their socks up, there airnt nothing to disctract us form the PA.
