Has got to be the worst pub in the area for food. We had lunch the food was well over cooked except for the beef which looked like a road kill. It was also freezing cold. On reporting this the management it seemed that no one cared. The place is now full of chavs from Henbury and Southmead. Gone down from the years when it was Harvester.

A variable pub. Nice when its quiet and you can enjoy your meal (cheap chain pub food - good to fill a hole but not exactly a treat) in peace.

Absolutely horrible when its full of stella-swilling chavs from the nearby estates.

For me, its real saving grace is being less than 5 minutes walk from home!

Alas, since my last post have visited on a few more occasions and the ale quality is going downhill in terms of quality and choice. Also, as seems to be the case with more than one pub in Westbury, the Abercrombie & Fitch chavs with buzz cuts and tattoos from the rough neighbouring estates of Southmead and Henbury have taken it over. A real roughhouse atmosphere in here on a Friday night. Anyhow, back to the ales, the pub seems to promote its interest in real ale and has guests from interesting, not often seen in Bristol, breweries. Problem is, they are often served in poor condition. The two tried last evening were flat and one was on the turn and vinegary. A problem with turnover is guess, and most of the above were on the Stella and suchlike. A real shame.

Looks like new owners are in here. There were five or six ales on and the three we tried in great nick. They have the usual suspects, ie Doom Bar, Butcombe etc, but also interesting guest beers from Acorn Brewery, Barnsley, Adnams and the new brew from Butcombe Old Vic. Inside is a bit bland but they do have a well kept, attractive garden. Recommended.

First time back in bristol for a couple of months and against my better judgement met some friends in here before heading to Glouster Road. See the arrogant bald manager not dealing with drug users in the toilets, bad service, poorly kept beer, poorly trained staff.

Do not visit.
