I found the opposite of Birmingham Boy.
With one of my firms offices just around the corner I would often stop in for a pint and always found the staff to be friendly and the beer ok.
Went in last week, 1st time since new management took over, and while the place has been given a deserved make over I found the clientel to be totally unfriendly and the staff stuck pretentious queens.

since the new team have took over in missing in early 2010, the place has improved so much!!! the staff are alot mor friendly, the new decor looks really good!! and the music, Djs are fantastic!!! its about time that the place was cleared up and had a change. i agree with some of the old comments on this page that the place was full of old men, not taking no for an answers and the pub was cold, dirty and the alcohol was vile!! but now its alot better mix of people in there, young on old, the beers tastes a lot bettter, and it is just an all round better night!!!

Old Missing Bar 4/10
New Missing Bar 8/10!!!

Do not go here! The staff are extremely unfriendly. Me and two friends were on a night out (15th Jan 2010) and first visited a couple of bars before moving onto Missing. We arrived at Missing and bought two drinks each (4 Pints of beer and 2 Vodka and Cokes). After that myself and another friend felt like we needed some water, so when I asked the barman for two glasses of tap water he replied 'You can't come here and not buy a drink' giving me an awfully dirty look. He then said, 'you can buy a coke, a lemonade or some bottled water', so I replied saying to forget about it and we walked out. I have been to Missing many times before the new management took over this January and thoroughly enjoyed myself and I have spent a lot of money in there and would have continued to do so with the new management if this hadn't had happened, but we will never be returning.

I also believe that a pub/bar/club which serves alcoholic drinks would have a clause under their liscense which states they must by law provide free tap water to customers, it would be interesting to find out.

Awful, Awful, Awful.
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.
This is a militant gay bar!
Aggresive men who when are knocked back get the security to through people out.
I took four of my straight friends there (Two couples) who were told to leave by the bouncers due to numerous complaints. When asked the nature of these complaints it was said "you're straight".
They were pushed, had drinks thrown on them and spat at by the jeering punters who took ofence to them talking to their girlfriends in public.
I'm ashamed that stupid people in our comunity would behave in the same way as the homophobic morons we had to put up with.
If thats the way you treat people dont be surprised when people treat you the same.
