Dated and situated at the top of Portsdown Hill which has a spectacular view overlooking Portsmouth and South Downs National Park- needless to say, as is the usual case in Britain- the pub does not take advantage of these possibilities and is set a little way off the road so you have to stare at the roar of cars rushing by. Inside- forget it- tasteless and kitsch brewery joint run by college kids- all plastic menus and much the same as your typical Brit boozer. 3/10

visited few weeks ago late lunch time. food was passable but not worth the high prices. seems like the view is worth an extra 2 a plate here. beer and selection ok. staff not particularly attentive but as suggested its a tourist buzz here.

microwave food, screaming kids(lots of them), like a licenced macdonalds without the charm 1/10

Good beer and service was my experience but very average food and not the cleanest of pubs to eat in. But the views...

good quality basic food. Much better than almost every pub in portsmouth though not restaurant standard. lots of barstaff so service was above par but not amazing. nice pub to take visiting family etc as there were no yobs like most portsmouth pubs have.
