Had 3 bitters on - a Sharps (doom bar I think), a Cornish craft beer IPA, and the pubs own IPA. I had the latter which was tasty and well kept. There were loads of ciders on offer, but as I don't drink those, can't comment other than there were a few to choose from. The landlord was friendly and it certainly seemed popular with the locals.
It's about a 20 odd minute walk from Hugh town (unless you go via the coast and add another 20), but it's worth a change from the touristy places in Hugh town.
It's just past the local shop and spitting distance from the airport. It looks like a barrack house from the outside but has a pleasant interior, and a garden out front and back. Dog friendly too,

Seemed a very nice pub. Boasts of having 30 ciders on. Old Rosie was off, but they served a good pint of Moles Perry instead. About half of the 30 were real ciders.

I found this pub away from the main tourist traps a real change and preferred it to those in Hugh Town. Beers from the Ales of Scilly were, as hoped, good quality and, despite the fact that I was manifestly a visitor, I was given a warm welcome.

I didn't realize such a thing as an excellent pint of Doom Bar still existed .

My personal favourite on the Isles of Scilly - an excellent pint of Doom Bar, served by a really friendly and helpful landlord who values his customers. There is also quite an extensive menu, including daily specials, which are cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. A quite basic pub, but highly recommended.
